I agree, you have to be pretty thick skinned sometimes on the other forums, my skin is like rhino hide but I do feel sorry for some of the newer members who get blasted for no reason !!!

There are some pretty nasty and unpleasant people on the other forums, but I am learning to ignore them. After all, not every knife post can be scrap yard related. The folks on this forum are much more considerate.

This is a fantastic place and the people here are great. I am really happy we have found a happy medium between Scrapyard topics and other things we are interested in. It makes it a much stronger and more interesting forum and in my opinion helps sell Scrapyard knives because when people start coming here for the forum they inevitably buy some of the knives.

An analogy is having a really hot self confident girlfriend who does not mind you looking or talking to other girls because she knows she has you right where she wants you. At the same time she does not want you to make her look foolish in front of ther people so you keep it to the right time and place.

I have to agree with everyone. This is one of the only forums I read where there is never really any drama. Other than waiting on new releases...

Clark,

Many a man better than I have tried to sum up their feelings for The Yard.

You have just had your first Epiphany here in The Yard. A moment that hits your heart, mind and ever your very soul and makes you realize that The Yard is different. It is a home for us. Us like minded individuals who enjoy hard use knives and DO NOT want the Trolls, smart mouth, foul mouthed people around us.

They do come here from time to time, but leave because they don't get the provocation they thrive on from The Yard. Everyone here is too laid back and above that kind of behavior so they leave for boredoms sake.
We who are left, day after day... are Dogs.

Our first action when entering the INTERNET is to hit the Scrap Yard Forum link saved in our favorites list. Right?

This is a very unique gathering of men and women from all walks of life, with a love and respect for each other as a guild of brothers. Under The Yard's banner we come to be ourselves. And tell our stories of blade conquest, and sheath love.
We share our families joys and concerns and I for one have always received prayers answered here and I in turn will always pray in earnest for others for as long as their concerns trouble them. Because I care. because The Yard cares. Because you care.

This place is The Yard. And as long as Dan Busse keeps paying the bills for his Internet servers and his Web Master and every other expense he endures so we have a place to gather ... we will.

Woe to the day that Dan closes The Yard for good.

On that day many a Dog will weep out loud and in private. Weep for times, and friends gone. Weep for The Yard gone and all the good it has done for all of us during its time.

But for now Clark, keep rejoicing for The Yard! It is young, strong and has a bright future!! Enjoy The Yard and all the love and good times had here.

Peace.

Some people just never learn.
