I use my DFLE hard in my yard. I use my Urban Mutt a bit, but it is coated. All Scrappers are meant to be used. Just protect the blade from rust as you would any carbon steel blade. If the LE was the only Mutt I had, I'd use it. What is the point in buying the toughest knife in the world? Even the LEs aren't exactly fancy. The satin finish doesn't mean it was meant just to look at. Just my opinion, tango6.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

oh, okay. I thought I might have been wrong on that.
and I can't tell you how many scratches are on my DFLE, how many nicks on the edge and how much crap I can't get off it.

I hear a scotchbrite pad works, so I think I might try that... well, one day when I stop liking the scratches. all scrapyards are users!

This is all great news! The info is much appreciated. I kinda' felt the same way...I'm tired of buying knives that I'm afraid to use, but I was worried that the next time I put up pics of the Mutt somebody would say '...you goof, ya' just ruined a perfectly good LE!'

Here is my Yard Keeper LE being driven through heart pine fatlighter with a baton. LE or not. It's a very tough knife! ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Busse/YKHR011.jpg)

Also while I'm at it, just how tuff is the RMD? It looks and feels like a primo piece of equipment but I swear I believe I can flex the blade in my two hands (not that this is necessarily a bad thing).
Nice score on the RMD and LE DM. If you want to no more about how tough the RMD is read this.

Yeah, sharp's thread basically showcases what the RMD can do. Sharp and I dug a 1.5"x1.5"x2"deep hole in a log with the tip of the RMD alone, and we stopped only because we got bored (the knife was ready for more). 'Nuff said. Would I trust my life with it? hell yeah
Have you hugged your camp knife today?

What Victor said!! Mike these are meant to be used HARD! You will have to retrain your thought process with these blades. A lifetime of being careful with your knife now has to be thrown out the window! Watch Horn Dogs "Vic's" posts. He always posts tests he performs out the the wilderness of Southern Georgia. And believe me his knives are used! Enjoy the new addiction Mike and good luck with the re-train! Peace.

I was wondering how many actually use thier LEs? I was hoping for a DMDC for a user but it looks like I may have been too late on that one. Watch the forum. There should be another release of the DMDC soon. You'll get a 48 hour and a 24 hour notice. When they are actually released, look sharp. The window of opportunity to buy the things is small. Recent releases have sold out in minutes, not hours.
