Face - good stuff! I've done some very heavy batoning w/ my DF - not much prying, but I've used 6" branch sections as batons (breaking many of them) while beating the hell out of my DF.

You're doing great work! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I batoned with two batons on each side one time when I hit a knot with my rd9.
it actually worked really well.

and I use some pretty big batons myself.

the tree was about 5-6 inches in diameter, almost like the one you batoned.
I hadn't done really any serious prying until now, it really is awesome when you see the crack down the log just open up and hear all the cracking.
*sigh*
it's so satisfying.

[censored], I know what you mean emf, destroying #$%& with a knife is one of the simple pleasures in life, along with other simply pleasures which aren't suitable for this venue...

But as for colleges, I'm in Tacoma, Washington, now and I'll be touring Univertisty of Puget Sound tomorrow, then U. of Washing in Seattle the next day, and topping to all off with Western Washington U. in bellingham, washington on friday, and then a six hour drive home to portland. But gdamn, driving 7 hours from south eastern WA to Tacoman was a b*tch

But yes EMF, it can be relatively painless, or you can do things the hard way like me...

The key is to do you research beforehand, and then only visit 2-3 schools. there are people in my grade who've visited over a dozen, or more...

... i would kill myself...

Have you hugged your camp knife today?
