The Strider neck knife I had around my neck fell out of the sheath and on to the floor with a huge noise in line at the grocery store making me look like a maniac.

I like to read the gun mags and dream about what I would carry if we had CCW's here. I like that new mini Walther. a 8 shot 9mm the size of the PPK.
I also share a similar taste as Leatherface ,we like the nifty eastern block pocket autos like the Makarovs....

I love those commie pistols. Had a PPK. My E German Makarov would shoot rings around it. Now my grown daughter has it. I got a Bersa Thunder Plus 15 rd pistol last year. I like it. It's about the size of a Makarov but holds more bullets. But it is a Winter carry gun. Not for shorts and a tee.

It has nice 3 dot sights.

It is built a lot like the Makarov with the fixed barrel and large recoil spring. I like the mag release, too. Same as a 1911.

I guess I could do an Andy and carry both 380s and Al Mars!

As far as comfort and access, you can't beat a thigh rig for a pistol or knife up to maybe chopweiler size if you have to do a lot of sitting or climbing. If you don't mind people seeing it of course, so it definitely wouldn't fly in an urban setting.

When the cars are burning and the scumbags and even police are looting, appearances won't matter much.

I have an E German Makarov too and its a great shooter. A great example of practical design as well. I like tritium though. and 9mm is cheaper and more powerful. Its a great weapon though, especially for the money. I got mine for $185 maybe 5 years ago and it looked almost new except for a single deep scratch on the slide.

Nice Kimber HD. I am jealous. I have been seriously eyeing one of the smaller Kimbers for EDC. I am torn over the concealibility issue. The snub nose lightweight revolvers are great, but they can get a little bit wide. The sub compact autos are thinner, but heavier.

I guess I can't really carry a pistol until I get a Concealed Carry Permit. That said, I feel a little awkward in this thread.

If I could I'd be buying some Colt 1911. I just love the stopping power of a .45 ACP (well I highly doubt I'm gonna need to use it hear in OR, but as the saying goes: "It's better to have it and not use than it is to not have it and need it.") I also really like the styling and feel of the Colts. Just good proven designed pistols.

Ok, but honestly I think the sweetest thing to carry would be the FN FiveseveN.

HKs got some pretty sweet stuff, too.

This is what I took today:

Fairly simple but it works for me.

There was a time when you could pick up a nice E. German Makarov for around $100. I really regret not buying a couple back in the day.

Sharp, the first time you rack the slide on a nice Kimber you'll forget all about Colts, except maybe a vintage SAA. While you're dreaming, dream about a Wilson Combat or Les Baer.

AHHH HELLL YES on the Les Bauer!!!

I've been wanting that exact package with the Picatinny Rail and Special Edition Busse (Mix of a Sating Jack and Hell Razor and RMD, me like).

Though it's so expensive!! Though when I'm older I'll probably be able to shed a few thousand for a good pistol.
