Well.... the daily damage is done. I got there about a hour and half after the doors opened and barely got my SAR's. I was really hoping to get a orange variant but there is always tomorrow.

If by "orange variant", you mean an orange/black handled SAR 5, then I think you need to order tonight. I was told that all the SARs that they brought were in the Friday boxes; it's possible that I was misinformed, but I asked more than once just to make sure. As far as other stuff goes, they should be able to replenish the depleted CG side of the room; if they've got more Hell Razors, then you may want to stake one out.

Both the S6s and those Yard Hooks had Scrap Yard logos in the coting; the earlier batches were all sterile, weren't they?

Yea, you are spot on about the Sar's. I asked a few different times as well so I am going to try to get one tonight.

The S6's and the Yard Hooks had logos. Not sure about the earlier batches.

What did you end up doing tonight? Did you stay or did you go home?

I went home at about noon, and am now watching the SARaganza to send a proxy order request for mtrspeed.

Glad you got some Scrapper 6s. I can't resist the best 6" knife ever made, either.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

During our conversation, Rainwalker mentioned that one of the reasons he'd come was in hopes of scoring an S6, but there hadn't been any. He didn't know at the time that there had only been two and that I'd grabbed both. Considering that he'd driven a lot farther than I had, and that I didn't need both (I wanted them, but didn't "need" them), I offered to transfer one to him. However, since he'd already checked out and made purchases based on not buying an S6, he decided not to -- he's got better impulse control than I do.

I never met Jeff before; he's a great guy and I'm glad I was able to.

Jim - I wish you could make it to the Blade Show in Atlanta; you would have a chance to meet a LOT of great Dogs, Rats, and Hogs!

Well I guess I'm caught... I made a very quick and sneaky trip up to the Knob event. Three+ hours drive each way and I was back by mid afternoon making pants again.

It was really worth while though!! First and formost I really enjoyed meeting Jim and Jfobush, and several of the guys that are regulars over on Bladeforums and Rat chat.

Due to my long drive and bad weather, I didn't get there until about an hour after the mayhem started, so the tables were about half empty. I did manage to pick up a Crash Axe, which I needed, another Chopweiler, which I couldn't resist , and Thanks to Jim's sharp eye and quick thinking I also scored a SAR5 too.

Thanks So Much again Jim!!!! I really would've taken you up on the generous S6 offer too, but considering the purchases I'd already made, I didn't want to wind up in the dog house.

I'm sure I'll get another opportunity to get another S6 eventually.

Good luck Jforbush and anyone else who's planning on going tomorrow, Get there early if you can!!!

Sounds like you guys did pretty good there. Its good to see they had some Rat Man Du's and Chopwielers there. Did they have any Ratwielers? I can't wait for the blade Atlanta show to hopefully pick up one of each of those. They look like some sweet knives. I passed on the Sars, but I might have to get in on the 4" model coming out soon. What is a proxy order everyone is talking about?

BC - A proxy is "a person authorized to act on behalf of another" - an "agent" if you will.

All - I have yet another story of the graciousness of the yard... I was unable to attend either show this weekend and was scheduled to work at the gaanza hour this evening... Through the pure goodness of his heart, Jim offered to proxy for me. Even though he scored big earlier in the day, he did an amazing job of having the email out instantaneously at the GO message. He selflessly did everything a person could ask on my behalf. Whether or not I score, for Jim's efforts and for all that the dogs do for each other, I'm incredibly grateful.

Long Live the Yard!

BC, They might have some Rat Man Du's and Chopwielers at blade, but my understanding is that the Ratweilers were the previous generation of the Chopweiler and is no longer made. Although they do pop up on the secondary market from time to time, and prices vary greatly.

mtrspeed, Jim is a great guy. A real asset to the Yard. I was very happy I was able to meet him and Jforbush yesterday, they're both great guys. If I had made the trip yesterday and come back with no new blades, being able to meet and talk with them, would have still made the trip worth while.

I hope to eventually have the pleasure of meeting every single member of the Yard.

You know, when Tom (Private Klink) went to Blade last year, he took pictures of the dawgs/hogs/rats he met. When I went to Blade west, me and Stan took pictures of us. You guys work for the FBI?
