You know, when Tom (Private Klink) went to Blade last year, he took pictures of the dawgs/hogs/rats he met. When I went to Blade west, me and Stan took pictures of us. You guys work for the FBI?

Ya know... I actually meant to take a camera, but between the storms and having to get up soooo early, I forgot (I know lame excuse, but it's all I've got ).

I'm just glad I didn't forget my wallet...

That's my story and I'm stick'n to it!

I sent in an email last night to try and snag some of the SAR5 blades. Time will tell!

I also tried for one at the ganzaa last night, hopefully I'll get lucky and snag my first INFI.

But looking at pictures today I have a question for you Dogs...since the talon hole is where it is on the SAR, do you think that the lateral strength on this design is compromised? Compared to other 3/16" blades, I would think that it might bend more easily than a knife with a full width ricasso. This doesn't matter to me because I don't plan on prying with the SAR, but I thought I'd get some opinions.

Having seen photos of what happens to blades Jerry considers substandard, there is no way these knives will have any weaknesses!

yeah.. scrapyard tangs are smaller than than that and they're fine so....
I doubt you'll have any problems... even if prying.

With metal fully encompassing the talon hole I can't imagine the SAR being easier to bend. It's not like there is a big notch in the steel.

I'm not sure which pics you're talking about, but if you've got a link

I'm sure the INFI is just as tough as ever, I was just thinking that the effective ricasso width seems like it might be narrower than in a Game Warden, for example. So would you expect a GW would have more lateral strength?

No kidding, I stared at that picture for 5 minutes straight. Wow, I guess the Busses do some pretty stringent quality control. Thanks for posting it.

+1!!!! That would be awesome wouldn't it!!!

Definately looks like a good pile for Dan to go through. There's bound to be something worth salvaging. I'm imagine that stuff is long gone though.
