I like the thinner wardens or skelly a lot more than the thicker ones. they are just too heavy in the handle for such a small blade. I've never seen anybody mention res-c elasticity but I'll definitely remember that. One of the guys I used to work with was twirling one of those cheap butterflies when the handle fell off and the blade slung down into his shin bone hehe.. I really liked the INFIcoots too. I grabbed one a month or so ago and I've seen a few more floating around. Mine looks a little thinner than my SS4 though nominally I think they are supposed to be the same thickness. The blade isn't quite as wide either, and it isn't ground as high, but it feels almost as nice in the hand with a regular grip or using the choil. I have pretty big hands, but not quite as big as HD's judging from his pics

...Maybe you could take a pic of the SS4, F1 and the Bayley knife all together !
It may take a while to download, but here are some size comparisons. The sun is setting here, so the light is poor.

The Ritter is sweet. The more I use it, the more I like it. I like it even more now that I have Jeff's kydex for it.

Hi Vic,
Thanks for the great walk in the back yard. It snowed a bit last hight...came down sideways in the high winds. Nice to see the green. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Vic, I know you saw the fat side on six stones for that Bailey knife a steep jump for any knife nut. But the more I see that thing the nicer it looks to me. The craftsmanship in the sole author custom knife is really beautiful.
And that sheath would even make Jeff sit up and smile! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />
The grind and shape of the handle are fresh! I sure like that custom blade!
Bet you didn't need to put a new edge on it when it arrived did you? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That SS-4... the smartest thing ever done by Scrap Yard eh? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

The Mudders set that blade up above any comparable blade for sure. You can put Joy dish washing detergent on your hands and then go cut wood with it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
NOTHING makes that handle slip! And Dan's special Scrap Yard INFI is a event that we can only dream of happening ever again.

I carry my SS-4 so many days a month I can't keep track. It truly gives a great feel in hand and takes a nice thin razors edge too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

A well done review again Vic. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

WOW!
awesome review vic.
AND... with the yardkeeper in that pics, i can tell how big some of those knives are, and some I've been interested in buying, so that shot helps me get a good size reference.
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
thanks.
that kydex looks awesome!

Vic, you're an inspiration to us all. Every time I see a new knife I ask myself "what would vic do"? Then I buy it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for another neat review. I've heard about the F1 but never seen one in person. Your review is the next best thing to being there for many of us. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

+1 Can't beat the well taken pictures. I picture is worth a smell, a touch, a sound, and taste of what the knife can do. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

BTW, can anyone give me some tech specs on the YKLE (pics appreciated, too).

I just sold my YKLE actually. It is a good knife but with my SS4 and YKCG it was not getting any use. It is a tank and is I believe the thickest Scrapyard knife?
At least there is nothing thicker even the DFCG. Normally I don't like thick blades because they don't cut but the YKLE has the full height grind which helped a lot. It still needed to have the edge thinned quite a bit. HD did the same thing to his(only faster and better) and probably even has some pics. It would make a great outdoors knife if you also had a SAK or some very thin little knife for really delicate stuff. It would also make a heck of an entry tool.

I never tried it but I am reasonably sure if you stuck the tip of the YKLE in a vise you could not bend it without some sort of cheater regardless of how strong you were. It is so thick ,short and strong it would be impossible to get enough leverage.
