Well, it's Sunday. Tomorrow is Monday. Sorry for stating the obvious. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Today I got bored and felt like giving the RMD a little workout. I really haven't done to much with the RMD (well actually if you count digging a whole 5+ inches deep in a cedar tree then I have done something).

I got some boards from the last palette destruction that I did. I felt like working the tip (don't know why but the tip on this knife has done more work than the edge).

Here we go!

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

Getting some pretty good sized splinters popping out.

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

After a quick minute or two I got all the way through.

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

Tip is still fine. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

The dug a pretty decently sized hole in the board.

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

WHOOO!!!!

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

Let's do it again!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

After another quick minute the tip made it to the other side.

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

The aperture wasn't large enough so I went at the wood some more. This happened:

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

WELL THAT WAS A FAILURE!!!!

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

But the tip is still good. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I had an extra board so off I go again.

This RMD is crazy good at digging in wood.

In another minute the RMD punctured through.

Tip is still good. YAY!!

So after that I became hungry. Off to the kitchen it is!!!

The victim:

This is gonna be fun.

The skin on this Pomelo is thick!! I had to make several slices before I got to the meat.

Look at the thickness of the skin compared to the RMD!!

MMMM, fresh fruit is always good.

The pomelo was exceptionally good. It was very sweet and tangy with a slight hint of papaya (an odd characteristic in this one particularly). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Enjoy!

That poor Mandu. I think you have shown its strength, Sharp. Noss would be proud. The RMD is a great all-around knife. I give your Sunday entertainment :<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Thanks you guys, I did have some fun. Usually Sundays it's, "BACK TO WORK!!!!!"

I forgot to mention...

Anyone with an RMD, feel free to use the tip and have no fear of breaking it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

That will be the conclusion of this particular test.

hahahaha i was grimacing throughout the whole post

I haven't got a knife similar to my RMD like sharp does (he has the CSK), so if I break the tip on mine, i'd be SOL for as long as it took to repair it...so, don't want to risk it

Have you hugged your camp knife today?

Cloak good to hear your back.

And SOL wouldn't be the correct term. You'd be SNAFUN. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

EMF, thanks. Picture 3 man, picture 3 man. You can see the gunk on the blade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I was very tempted to buy another one at Knob.

Lol EMF (BTW I forgot to mention a long time ago, but did you know that your acronym actually means electromotive force? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> ).

Actually I really haven't used the RMD. There's just some paint off from the tip and a little smoothing paint (from stropping) near the edge. I should use it more but since I have my FBM... well, you get the picture.

RW, You should have gotten another RMD in G10 (if they had them). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

When I was a teen studying for my HAM license, one of the instructors at the HAM club kept calling it "ElectroMODEM force". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Shaolin,

Glad you enjoyed the test. When you get your RMD, be sure to do the same. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Sharp:

I know what SNAFU stands for. I’m clueless about SNAFUN. Please explain.

At that time I had an idea, now I don't even know what that means. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I think it's the same as SNAFU except the N means "now."
