What handgun mags do they use and are larger ones available?

Coyotebc,
Exact style? So, his Canadian trademark and copyrights for the design are invalid?
Just expressing info as related by the maker. If you want to argue the legal ramifications of trademark violations with him, I guess you could contact him and/or his legal representative.
Good luck.
Just stating that it is a traditional style.
When Lynne Thompson first sued Stuart (I believe) for copying his patened American Tanto style knife, he found out even if the patent office grants a patent, it doesn't mean the courts will up hold it.
I am all for intelectual property but to take a traditional style knife and then complain when others make the same style is meaningless. If it is a locking mechanism or something like that then ok, but a simple blade design no.

pretty much every throwing knife on earth is that same exact shape...
(YES every one!)

that maker is gonna be rich!

jk...
but all my throwing knives are such crap... they're pretty bent and beat up, and I would bet they don't balance as well as roo's.
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
they really don't even have edges on them... thats how dull they are.

Nice carbine Joe. I tried to get one of those about five years ago but couldn't find one in any caliber. I ended up with a Mini-14 and mounted an Eotech sight on it. It's okay.

Odd enough, it was mini-14's I was after. They just happened to have the ruger P40 on the shelf when I went in.
I thought to get it while the getting was good, as the mini-14 will probably be avaiable for the forseeable future.
They had a 9mm, as well, but when Nikki went back to get it, it was gone. But, they had the Marlin 9mm, so it worked out.

I had a mini014 once upon a time. I sold it, and regret it now. I needed the money at the time to finance my first Colt sporter, when they became legal in NJ, again.

Nice Ranch/rail/mount/dot set-up, stansbrew!

Unfortunately, I tried to like the Mini (stainless, standard model, wood stock) about 10 years ago but the lack of quality 20-30 round mags and the fact that my groups (100m) really opened up after 8-10 rounds was a little disappointing.

No slur against the weapon itself, just a personal observation.

That said, the gun itself was 100% in the reliability/ease of operation department.

Current offerings appear to have beefier barrels/improved sights.
I've read that they are selling the once "scare and pricey" factory 20-round mags again, too. Good news all around.

I have recently got my mini back from the gunsmith with a shortened bbl., glass bedded stock, trigger job, and the thick rail, so now I am shooting in the 10 circle all of the time even aftr 30 strait shots. Thank the stiffened stock! and no more rattle too.

That's good news!
If I, or rather, when I, get another mini I'll have it converted to scout configuration by Chief AJ. They make nifty neeto scout rifles.
I see your rifle, Stansbrew, has a scout mount like my M1. The chief mounts his forward of the foregrip, past where the barrel pinches.

I have so much fun with my mini 14, after the work over it preforms like a sports car, it use to be cheap to shoot kind of like driving a sports car use to be cheap (bullets and gas prices have gone thru the roof) but I still do it anyway.
I am thinking about a mini30 as well a little more umph behind it..... + I have a butt load of 7.62by 39mm.
The price of the mini is going up lately but they seem to be more of them available at the gun shows around here..I dunno why?
I got mine for 500. like new very clean in the box, then spent 550. on making it shoot straight. Make a good varmint gun as well, or zombie gun if the need arises!

Your thinking is a lot like mine. Get the gun for 500, fix it up for 500. There is a place near me that has older models new in the box for the same prices as they went for new maybe 10 years ago.
I like the rugers, cause they are so much like the M1A, M14, and garand. Very reliable, very easy to maintain and take apart. Also, look way more 'normal' to the sheeple.
The mini30 sounds like a good bet, due to your ammo situation.
One of the reason I have not minified myself again, yet, is due to the new availability of different ammo. I was contemplating our mini's being in the new 6.8 military round. The stainless mini's are available as such. A stainless mini with a wooden stock would still be lowe profile than my AR, and the word on the street is that the 6.8 hits with a lot of authority, at close range.
I am just not sure if I want to invest in another cartridge, when the M1A is my 'main' rifle, and the .40 P40 my main recreational carbine. I have a ton of .40 laying around, and the P40 came with 3 mags, so I havn't had to spend any money on it, other thasn the initial purchase price.
