I didn't know the Urban Mutt existed until the "favorite Mutt" poll thread. I tried searching more about it but nada. According to Coldone's ScrapWiki (http://www.scrapyardcollector.com/index.php/Knives), I learned it was only sold at blade shows.

I'd love to get one, but haven't seen it in any sales. Anyone know how many are out there? Who has one/some? If it's nearly impossible for me to get a hold of one, maybe I can forget about it and sleep better, but right now I can't stop thinking about it.

If you've got pictures, post them. I'd like to see more of it!

I don't know for sure, however given how few ever surface on the exchange I really don't think there are many around.

Now the Urban Keeper, I can tell you how many of those are around.

How many, CO? 1 is my guess. That's how many UM's I have.

Ok, this thread is a year old, but I thought I'd bring it back to show how happy I am. I always thought the Urban Mutt (and later Urban Keeper) was so cool, but they rarely pop up in the exchange, and I remember the one I did see was overpriced. Basically I drooled over this knife for a long time, but no more because of the Urban S5!

And I think this new color combo is awesome too!

Do you guys like it with or without the ramp?

i like the ramp.ramps placed in the right spot get a lot of use from me.a ramp in that location of the knife beats some other makers alternative which is jimping on the spine.

the S5 i ordered is muddy blade/muddy handle.

i got one for my boy and he got a kick out of getting to pick his own color combo.he got black blade/green handle.

from the pics the green doesnt look green enough, almost greenish-gray which dan did mention somewhere.i'd like a dark jungle or OD green.

cant wait for this knife and its the first one where i got one for me and one for my son.at 9 he's not old enough yet but he will be soon enough and as you all know its easier to buy first and then sell later if need be cause once their gone thats it and its off to the secondary market & secondary market prices.

i plan on getting 2 knives of every new release i like and can afford, one for me,one for him, so that he has a stock pile of busse kin when he's older.

i'm so glad scrapyard went with SR101,i just love that steel with the busse heat treat

Yeah, guess I'll just have to hold it first before I can judge about the ramp.

I would've liked to see dark jungle/OD green handles instead of the grey-green handles too, but muddy and black is great too.

I had the hardest time deciding if I should get one or two, because I plan to pick up an LE if it's offered in INFI, but that's still up in the air so I just went ahead and ordered 2 (even though I'm broke).

That's really great for your son, he'll appreciate them so much one day. Have you guys been outdoors lately? I haven't see any pics of your trips in a while.

I like to call it the suburban mutt. The LE is for urban use.

I prefer the ramp. They are nice looking knives...too bad they are so hard to get. I'll settle for my S5 though.

I think I'm gonna like the S5 better. The mudder handles fit me better and I prefer the SR101 steel. I even ordered mine with a sage blade and black handle to match the UM.

Well I already have the original DMCG so I couldn't really justify the price of the Urban Mutt in the secondary market, and what I like about it so much was the color combo. With the S5, I get a completely different knife, with the color combo I sought after so much.

I like the thumb hump on my SODLE and I am sure I will like it on the S5 too. I love the Mudder grip on my MUK, so i am sure I will like the Mudder on the S5 too. I guess what I am saying is that I am going to like the S5!

I guess each day we are getting closer to the closing of the order processing. I hope to get mine in time for one last outing trip. Looking at the dates, and if the blade goes out on schedule, etc. I might get mine the week before we start full blown football season.

Where were the urban mutts sold? Were they offered at a recent blade show?

I got mine from a proxy that went to Blade West 07, that's the only time I know of that they were offered. They were Military Over runs.
