I'm hoping to go hunting sometime this summer. As you know busy work in school is holding me back. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

Mac, I only have dialup but it was worth the time to be able to see all the photo's of a family tradition unlike anything we have down-under. A real family affair!

We hunt here but the game, conditions and terrain are so very different that it may as well be happening on a different planet!

I hope you get to hunt and continue the tradition with your children in the future...maybe with a good hound or gundog at your side for suitable game species?

Great stuff, thats like my fam up in PA. We go up for the first day in buck season and its like a family reunion, haha. I took this pic of the buck I got openening day (already took the hat rack off).

I usually never wear gloves, not when I'm gutting the animal never.

I was cutting the loin and meat in those photos and didnt want to contaminate it, plus I had several large cuts on my hands.

The "cool" sensation of having deer blood on your hands quickly wears off and becomes anoying, their blood is quite sticky.

One old hunters trick that I do do is I will cut the estrogen glands that are inside the rear legs of doe's off and lace them into my boots to mask my scent.

I have gotten a 6 point, a button, and 2 doe's.
But I have gutted about 8 deer.

Been about 5 years since I've been hunting. Used to do it all the time when I lived in Mississippi. Nice cheap way to fill the freezer with meat. Though I did lose a couple of girlfriends after gutting squirrel and raccoon in the kitchen.
