looks like a great time! i see i'm not the only one to cross paths with a rattlesnake this weekend the nice thing about those guys is that they do everything in their power to avoid you. one can walk by them on the trail all day and never know they're there until they become agitated or you just get too close. then they rattle like there's no tomorrow and it is such a distinct sound that you'll jump the other direction. overall, they're really docile animals and the only people who get bit are either a) messing with the snake or b) REALLY unlucky and step on it or put a hand in front of it while climbing on rocks. here's a western that my wife met in the arizona desert: ![[Linked Image from catandstew.com]](http://www.catandstew.com/Images/Other/rattlesnake.jpg)

You're completely right about them. We encountered them both days and both days we were never rattled ( ) at.

hen they rattle like there's no tomorrow and it is such a distinct sound that you'll jump the other direction. you're definitely right about the distinct sound. I've seen five up there in that area, and been rattled at twice. I can tell you, the first time, I was already fifteen feet away and sprinting before I had even realized what had happened. If you've never heard it before and you're not expecting it, it just triggers an instinctual fight-or-flight reaction. I hope they don't make too many more cameo appearance in my life, but I do what I can to avoid them. Sharp and I aren't stupid, and we don't go around trying to pick them up (which is frequently what results in most bites). We also usually tap ahead of us with walking sticks when we're forced to walk through prime snake habitat, so we don't surprise them.

Condor. Great rig for the price. Stitching isn't as bad as I though it would be. The back and straps are really well done. ![[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee292/The_Aaij_1/DSC_0059-1.jpg) Front just has normal molle webbing. The rigs work and I would recommend them.

Wouldnt want one of you idiots to get hurt and they are only $12.
