I would go down to no more than 1 pouch at a time for a week or 2. when that isn't too stressful, you will have a much easier time quiting entirely. It might not work the first time you try. Remember how you feel before you break, and remember how much worse you feel a few hours after you break and you will know that it isn't worth it.

The first 72 hours is key This is true after that nicotine is gone and it is all mental. I dipped Kodiak for 16 years and have been off all Nicotine now for 4 years. If you are trying to quit you definately have to want it. I got by on the fake stuff called bac off I think for about a week and then I started chewing peppermints. They got me my first cavities of my life though so I can't recommend them. Use sugar free candy. I still wake up about once a month having dreamed that I started dipping again. I am mad at myself for a good 1/2 hr. till I wake up and realize it is a dream. Some folks can do it and stop anytime they want. Not me, I was hooked. Best of luck brother. I had a friend that quit so I KNEW it was possible. If you are trying hopefully I can be at least one of those people for you.
Be prepared.......It is more than a motto it is a way of life.

i smoked for 12 yrs and have quit temporarily 3 times.i am now cigarette free for the last year.
their is a miracle drug out their now called CHANTIX.
google it yourself.
all i can tell you is that it is the only reason i dont smoke now.it is fairly new.it works so well that i have to say it actually makes quiting easy and i have tried every method from cold turkey to the patch and the gum twice.....at least.
the only thing that will work better is to be incarcerated in a non-smoking jail, but you dont want to do that.
this stuff makes you not only not want it but it makes you hate the nicotine.
they tell you to keep smoking while taking the pill at for i think the first 2 weeks.after a few days i had no craving for nicotine but being addicted i still went to smoke one anyways but i took a few puffs through it out.it was nasty.
it will make you hate intaking nicotine and i didnt have any side effects.
the lady i work with has been smoking for over 2o yrs, took the pill and quit like it was nothing and hasnt had one in around a year.
its not some gimmick either.it is a legit medicine that you doctor prescribes and you can fill at any pharmacy.
the reason it isnt more well known i think is because it is fairly new,a little over a year, and i really think big tobaco dreads this stuff.
you will be amazed.the success numbers are extremely high.
quit smoking before you do permanent damage to your lungs like i did.too bad they didint have this sooneer.

there was a few people when I was on jury duty that said the Chantix worked for them. I'm not sure if it would work for dip or not though. I'm more the incarceration type. try to clear a few days where I can afford to be completely unproductive, I stay at home, and don't leave for any reason. The first 2 days really suck, the 3rd sucks less, and after that its more of a continual mild annoyance.

it should work for any type of nicotine addiction.
eventually this stuff will change the world as dramatic as that sounds.
this stuff really is a miracle drug.no one or nothing has been able to defeat nicotines deadly addiction until now.
i dont know many smokers who actually like being addicted yet they cant stop.
i absolutely hated every single ciggarette i ever smoked but i still went ahead and smoked it and then had another one an hour later,so on and so on for 12 yrs.
they say the actual adictive properties of nicotine are worse than heroin and react the same way in the brain as crack cocain.
nicotine will kill you one way or another sooner or later.....PERIOD

i quit smoking 8 and a half years ago and it was the best decision that i ever made.
of course, i tried to quit at least a dozen times before i actually really wanted it. i went cold turkey, but i know plenty of people who that won't work for.

Good luck recon. You will feel much better mentally after you quit chewing. I know I did. As with most things, it's mostly a mental game.
