What a glorious day it is here. Mild, about 78F. Nice breeze. Time for a leisurely walk around my 'hood for recreation. The path to becoming a sattva can take some strange turns. Today I will carry my favorite stick and my Rat Trap.

This trail on the North end of my house leads to the ditch where the buzzards have been dining.

Looks like the carcass has been picked pretty clean. Surprisingly, I found yet another raccoon skull. Big juju.

This ditch is my property boundery with Sissy's. It leads from the marsh to the road.

The lovely and kind widow has invited me to dinner tonight. This is her drive.

Here is the fern swamp on the other side of her land.

I like this little trail. I hope it stays undeveloped here for a while.

Can you see the squirrel in this picture?

Back on down to the road to continue my walk.

Once I got back home, I found some nice dewberries to eat in my backyard.

A nice little treat for the end of my walk. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Not much, Nick. Maybe enough for Bear Grylls or the ants. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Vic,

You live in a really spectacular area. Lots of areas for a good hike.

The weather there seems to be pretty consistent which is really nice.

Thanks for sharing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Very enlightening walk and pics. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I'll be glad when my Blackberries get ripe, (usually around the first of July). I've still got some in the freezer but there nothing like that fresh on the vine taste. Unless you forget to flick the June Bug off first. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

First to you say that Jean-Yves Leloup is one of your favorite writers. Now you’re an aspiring Bodhisattva. I would never have pegged you for such spiritual aspirations.

I have sought truth and knowledge all my life, Implume. I went through an anti-Christian Norse pagan phase after my dear wife died, but God in his wisdom and mercy reconciled me to that fact that it is all the ALL. Leloup is like my guru, only he doesn't know it. I like Ethan Walker's The Mystic Christ a lot, too.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus spoke Aramaic. In the Western Aramaic (Syriac) version the passage begins with the word "I" repeated: ena ena, as in "I-I". It is the intensive form of "I" or "I am". In a culture where the word for God (Alaha) means Unity, the sense of the individual (Jesus) cannot be be ultimately separated from the divine. Only the "I am" exists, which is Alaha (GOD). It is the eternal "I am" that dwells in each of us. It is THAT which existed "before Abraham" that says, "I am the way".

Either way, I have chosen the gospel that Jesus revealed.
