Well guys here it is, my Blade show 08 experience.
I should say first off that with a slight degree of guilt that if you expect to see to many pics from the show, that I started out with good intentions and really planned to take lots of pics, but at some point something took over and I totally forgot about the camera and became totally inthralled in the chaos that is the Busse family show experience...
We got there about an hour and a half early and the lines were unbelievable. First you wait in one line to get your pass, then you wait in another line for the show to open.
Here's a pic facing towards the door.
Here's a pic facing the end of the line.
These are Scrap Yard prototypes. We can all hope to own all of these some day.
Here's a view showing the crowd starting to gather at the Busse family booth space, it took up a 4 booth block!
This unfortunately is my last actual show pic, it's not very good and I hesitate to post it, but it's obvious from looking at this pic that I am beginning to loose rational control of my actions... From that point on it was a matter of standing and waiting to see what would be shown or released.
I do also want to say at this point that although I greatly enjoy the show for the blades, I also really enjoyed meeting and talking with a lot of the guys who were able to make it to the show. I met and talked with several dogs, some I met last year and some I met for the first time. Here's a list of the ones I can remember, and I'm truely sorry if I missed anyone. Cold One, Banana Clip, Vance, Northern 1, Private Klink and his wife, Messer454, and I know there's one or two more that I just cannot remember at the moment...sorry. We were all going to try and get together afterwards but somehow it didn't work out...oh well maybe next time...
Now on to the blades!
Here's an over all view of my haul...
There's several blades here that I got for a few dogs that couldn't make it to the show, and just so you guys know, I got everything I was asked to get, but no extras, so all these babies are called for. Also you'll notice that I've intentionally covered turned the blades so that the numbers don't show. I'm not going to get myself in trouble over who gets what number wise... I was not allowed to ask for any certain numbers, so I got what I got. There were a couple of dogs who asked for my proxy assistance that got lucky because I just happened to get their JYD number and it only makes scene to send those to them. Unfortunately for me I wasn't one of the lucky ones, so I got what I got and and I'm really not that caught up on the number thing anyway.
Now moving on, here's a pic showing the MPLE and BDLE in comparison to the SS4.
This pic is for Pit. Here's the MDLE compared to the SW and the Wolf Pup.
Here three of my other prizes. First the smallest the Nuclear EDC similar to the AD this one was sought after by many but not as much as the other two. Second the SARsquatch, there were a few scuffles between Hogs trying to get this one. It's an interesting design and has a thinner blade had I expected, it's around .20. Overall I like it. And last in this pic is the Jack Hammer. It shares similarities to the Satin Jack with a modified blade shape and design including the corrugations. This was one of two blades Jerry released with the new Competition Grade finish. I really like this one!!!!
Now here's a pic showing the Jack Hammer and The CG Hell Razor. I actually got the Hell Razor for another lucky dog and although I would have loved to have been able to get one of those for myself too, once I saw the Jack Hammer I was completely content to be able to get that instead.
Another cool thing about the two CG blades is that one the other side of the blade, it's stamped "2008 Special Edition". It didn't come out very good in the pic though.

I'd like to thank Dan and Jerry for "Bringing it" at the show, along with all the Busse group staff that worked so hard to supply the Dogs, Rats and Hogs with blades. I'm really glad I was able to get the Mud Puppy and the Bird Dog, and I'm glad I could get a few for a few friends. I know there are others whom I wish I could've helped too, but I helped as many as I possibly could.
I had a great time and I'm very proud of what I was able to score. Also I really enjoyed meeting and spending time with the guys that I met at the show. That is what truely made my Blade Show 2008 experience great!!!
