Great test HD and I am sorry about the knife! At least Swamp Rat has a great return policy.

ranger's pretty close. he's only had something like two knives he's had to replace under warranty. shivs, i believe.
their are many knives that are tough enough and rangers are one of them... as far as being pushed to their limits... I doubt their as tough.
not saying you could break one during normal use though.
just saying their not as tough as busse's. (which is more than is USUALLY needed)
since I've thinned out my rd9's edge, I noticed a tear in the blade, (although I'm pretty sure it came from a nail I hit with it) which I've never had happen before (my DFLE has rolled it's edge, but never a tear) to me.

also, he has had broken rd9 tips (someone [I think it MIGHT have been gravelface actually] stabbed it into a piece of wood and just pried over with the knife and the tip broke) but only a shiv that snapped in half.

anyways, yeah, I think busse's strong suit is definatley their hard users.

(although I think INFI makes a great slicer... especially with the thin designs jerry has been coming out with)

DO NOT judge Busse knives by what happened to Vic's HCLE, Shaolin. Busse knives are traditionally much tougher than that. If you want to see for youself, check out the tests of the Scrap Yard Scrapper 6 and Busse Fusion Battle Mistress here: http://knifetests.com/

Very impressive. I never said anything bad about Busse, Scrap Yard, or Swamp Rat knives. I would not be here if I did not like them or even buy one for that matter. I've always heard good things about them, that's why I'm here, lol Those two knives held up very well in those tests. I wanted to buy a Scrapper 6 last week from this website, until I found out they are sold out, and how the selling is handled. It is still on my list though.

Somebody had to go first. We were all wondering if Busse's 154CM was going to be as tough as his other steels. Now we know. It's somebody else's turn to break a 154CM knife. The guys who went to Blade have some. Let's see how they work out.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Must admit I'm now glad I didn't get a proxy to get me a MPLE to add to my HCLE.. I think I've got enough Bussekin stainless now..

Shaolin, the S6 is the worlds best knife- highly recommended! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Knifeguy- do you think A2 would have been a better investment for the Dogs and Rats than the 154CM?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I agree bro! P.O.P.s said;

I am counting on my Scrap Yard Mud Puppy to be able to dance on other factory blades of CPM154 that I own.
These ARE Busse knives and should spank any like competitor.
Vic I am truly sorry for that tip snip but I wouldn't let that stop you from tip testing The Yards version in MPLE style

he's got one coming; "Right Behind you Moses!" you did your job! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loopy.gif" alt="" />
