No problem LD,

The patina might work well for some steels, but ones like 5160 will rust no matter what. Cloak had his RD7 with a patina for several hours out in the forest and by the end of the day it was littered with little rust spots throughout the blade.

Didn't work too well and he just stripped the patina and put a scotchbrite finish on it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

There's something very appealing about that old Ranger with the patina on it. It just looks right! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I've got a bunch of my Dad's stuff that over time has developed a nice natural Patina, it does really seem to help with rust resistance too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
