The S6 was my first, actually, my first two blades. I even managed to score one in tan. Overall, probably the best all-around blade size released so far. These days, I do use the DM the most. It is 'small', compact.... very tough.

Both great knives, But if I had to choose 1, I'd have to say the S6.

The S6 is a great all-around knife. Big enough to do some hard work, light enough to carry all day. It is the knife that put Scrap Yard on the map. Very popular with soldiers and outdoorsmen. It feels and works better than its plain looks might lead you to believe. Very well balanced.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Well, I haven't gotten the S6 (YET!), but I do have and love the DMLE. It's done everything I asked of it, and still has an awesome edge, in comparison to any other knife I have, except my other Scrapyards! LOL!

If those prices are already in the UK, then they're OK, but if they aren't and you don't "need" the knife immediately, I'd recommend looking around some more. In the (hopefully) near future, when the second DMDC run is completed, you may be able to order them from the Scrap Yard store for $90/ea + shipping + UK taxes/fees.
All things being equal, I like the S6 better -- the handle fits my hand better and the balance is outstanding. However, it's 2-inches longer than the DM (1.5-inch more blade and 0.5-inch more handle), so if size is a consideration, the DM may be a better choice for you.

Another vote for the S6, my favorite Scrap Yard blade. It seems to be able handle anything. I use my DMDC seldom and never use my DF. I always seem to reach for the S6.

That S6 has gotten a fair bit of work since I got it from you. If this keeps up, my old style Ratweiler will be seeing a lot of drawer time. Cheers Dave

Maybe this comparison pic will help you in your decision: Top to bottom: Camp Tramp, S6, Dumpster Mutt, SS4 ![[Linked Image from i6.photobucket.com]](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/andywayne/Knives/Swamp%20Rat/06-11-08-1.jpg) Spine thickness shot ![[Linked Image from i6.photobucket.com]](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/andywayne/Knives/Swamp%20Rat/06-11-08-2.jpg)

Wow, Thanks for your thoughts on the blades ( the the very helpful comparison photos Andy) Both blades are in fact the other side of "the Pond" so i'll keep an eye out over Europe side (but I'm wondering just how many ~ if any are over our side?) Next question to you guys will no doubt be "which sheath to go for" ~ I'll be in touch "RainWalker"
