Thanks for the pictures.

Was the new release RMD tan or sage coated? I remember it was sage.

I'm going to a local Busse knife meet so I'm hoping to score an RMD or SS4 (maybe both) there.

hmm.. sage blade, tan micarta. I don't think they are using the tan anymore. I know I don't like the tan on my BATAC. its really abrasive and it seems like it will wear off a lot more quickly. I like the sage so much better. The color isn't really that much different.

Sage isn't my favorite color for coating. I feel dumb for skipping out on the RMD when it was available at the store, but I'm not huge on the color. I had a couple other chances to score some g10 RMDs, but I skipped out too because I prefer the feel of micarta. I really want it, but I'm not in a rush so I'll wait for the right combo.

The SS4 and RMD are both 2 of my most favorite blades. The SJTAC has a very similar feel to the RMD, just bigger. Strangely, my BATAC doesn't feel anything like either of them. It has snakeskin micarta though, which is standard thickness, and that might be part of the difference. My SJTAC is definitely mag. I don't know why the RMD feels so much better than the BATAC, but it does. The cord definitely helped though.

Pink,

The G-10 handled ones are so nice. They feel a little bit more sculpted than the micarta ones. They still give a really good grip and feel slighly heftier in the hand.

The SJTAC is really similar to the RMD in terms of shape. The BATAC is more wide and has a bigger belly.

Sharp, no doubt g10 is great (I like your black/OD one!) . I just prefer micarta, but then again, I haven't handled a RMD in either configuration yet. That's what I love about the RMD line, so many different combinations so something for everyone. At the meet a few of the guys are bringing their RMDs and SS4s for me to handle and check out so I'll be able to get a better feel.

Trust me, you'll like the G-10. You can absolutely get a death grip on the RMD with G-10. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I just like the Busse G-10 because it's smooth.
