I gotta get a G-10 RMD eventually. The more I see'em the more I like'em!

I like my micarta RMD too but that G-10 looks really good on them!

I like the Darker grey too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That's a very nice set, and seeing them all in one shot is awesome. After hearing all these comments, I'm not sure which one is heading my way.

Recently, i've got my first Swamp Rat with Micarta Handles( Ratmandu) and I'm bit disappointed:

What i don't like:
- Weight, knife is simply too heavy ( it weights almost like Fallkniven A1), balance should be more on the blade. This could be improved by drilling or tampering tang.
- Too thick edge (just behind edge bevel) it results that knife cuts rather poorly. SYCO DMDC or Swamp Rat Howling Rat( Gen 2) are noticeably thinner

What i like:
+ Comfortable and well designed handle
+Smaller choil( and closer to handle ) than SYCO DMDC or Swamp Rat Howling Rat
+Reasonable blade thickness

I think the blade is balanced perfectly for small-blade tasks. The edge has great agility. The weight is a little heavy, and that is one of the reasons we like Res-C so much. It is easy to thin the edge if that's how you want it.

after handling the Ratmandu at last years Blade West show, I can agree it is bigger/heavier than it looks, and after you handle the HRLM, even more so.
it's why I like the later more now.

I kinda like the heft, and for me, I agree with DA on this one completely, the balance is perfect.

I've been hearing the newer versions (with out swedge) have been coming with thicker and not-so-sharp edges. The one that I got Blade West came hair popping sharp.
