I don't care, it's gonna be used, so the coatings gonna go some day. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

If it isn't SR101, it isn't a Camp Tramp.

i've been thinking that. it won't be the same. close, but not the same.

i want something cgdm thick at the spine with the df handle and a blade of 7" length and 2.25" breadth.

get photoshopping.

I went with the Scrapweiler prototype because I love my Chopweiler so much! I love the shape of the blade, and I'm sure if Dan made one, it would be thicker than my Chopweiler. I love the Yard's thick blades! It would probably chop incredibly well, too!

I think a res-C SARSquatch would rock ! Definitely not the Tali-Whacker or Scrapper 7 proto-type !!!
The ScrapWeiler still looks nice !

once again... is this from personnal experience?
cause I always thought the black SYKW finish and the Tan would be the same...
I think we would be told about it if that was true.
maybe busse finish is diffeent, but I would think SYKW finsihes would not differ.

once again, I reliable source always helps.

not personnaly experience, it could be the different grinds on the blade that make some finishes hold up differently.

Yes this is from personal experiance.
The height of the grind on the yardhook and DFCG are about the same.
It took only batoning one midsized piece of oak to expose bare metal on the DFCG, with the tan hook it to something like 4.
SYKCo uses the same blade finishes as busse, the coatings are different in durability between them(different color=more or less durability).
The black coating is thinner when applied then the tan one, the black also feels rougher.
The tan coating being thicker it takes more to rub it off.

I'm not the only person that has found tan to be more durable, there was a discusion about it on BF awhile back.

It actually might be some time before that happens.

I'm gone all of next week.

Oh my! I didn't even think about a Res-C SARSquatch! That would be amazing! I think the SARSquatches are some of the best looking ~7inch blade knives! If Busse starts to sell those, I may have to figure out a way to fund a purchase of that!
