HD, now you need an original Ratweiler to compare too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I think the Ratweiler would win! I'll have to find out. When I have the time I want to sometime do a chop-off with pics and video of my Fiskars hatchet, Crash Axe, Rat Mastiff, Battle Rat, DFLE, Ratweiler, Chopweiler, Camp Tramp, and maybe M6. Hope I don't tire too easily. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

...I view my Tramp as a great generalist that "can" chop. The Chopweiler should outchop the Tramp by a good margin.
The SARq may surprise you as it is blade heavy and you can really "snap" the blade. I would guess that the SARq and the Chopweiler will be fairly close with the SARq having a slight edge.
Can't wait for the test! The Legend of the Camp Tramp dies hard. Some knives are just so right that we imagine them to be top performers in all categories. I can see no reason why the SY YG/YH would not chop as well, and I already know the Chopweiler can beat them. I love my S6 the way CT lovers do their tramps. It's a do anything knife. I am going to make every effort to bring out the strengths and weaknesses of the knives. Whether it comes out on top or not, I have a feeling that I will like the CT. I like well balanced all-around knives.

This is gunna be good!
I've got a Chopweiler and a SARsquatch myself and should be doing some chopping with them, so I can give my input, but I just don't have the time right now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
Boy things piled up here and at work while I was on vacation!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
I'm gunna need another vacation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> That is why retirement is so great. I have the time to do things I want to do. Now that da yoots are away, I can be a professional knife reviewer. Well, not really professional. I have to buy the knives I test!

Knife guy had put the yard guard/camp tramp info for me right after I had bought the YG and stumbled onto a great/inexpensive CT. I tried them both out clearing some decent sized shrubbage and...the CT came out on top- pretty easily. It bit much deeper and quicker. Honestly, i was surprised, with the extra heft of the YG- I thought it would be a destroyer. Maybe b/c of the recurve? I decided to be smart $$ and said bye bye to the YG- it's the CT all the way!

That's the only way to know, isn't it? I can't tell you how many "choppers" I have bought that looked great but performed poorly. You would think that the .25" thick Entrek Destroyer bolo type knife would out chop a 3/16" thick Becker, but it won't. Thanks for letting us know, RN.
