Well, to be fair there are certain knives that are worth the price if you actually use them.
Hmmmm.... Well "to be fair", use them a LOT or not, "worth the price" is a very relative statement. "Some" people seem to be a little more fortuitous in their financial situations and justifications - regardless of how. I realize that INFI is amazingly tough. But, I hope you realize how fortunate you are to be able to own $400 - $500 knives along with your other toys and then use them with little regard to cost - especially at your age. More power to you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I guess if I just needed on knife I would just have been happy with my RMD. And 175 for knife and sheath wouldn't be too much for the average person. Just one life for everything. Of course that would start an addiction. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Not everybody can be so casual about the use of their $100 - $200 knives... let alone $400 - $500 knives. Most people I know wouldn't be so casual about using a $40 knife as you do.... throwing them, jumping on them, digging and beating against rocks with them, etc. ... Again, more power to you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> . True enough. My FBM is extremely excessive, addiction as it seems. And before I even found out about the Busse Family I was still fairly abusive of my knives and conscious of cost. I've actually never been too casual about using my knives. I've broken/lost my fair share and still regret losing or breaking them. My FBM also has a great amount of dings that I wish never happened. Might not seem like it, but I get extremely aggravated after even seeing a small ding on my knife, even if I can get it out. I'm still a stingy asian. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

wow... that just all flew over my head... (what vic was talking about) but knifeguy, again, I just don't get it. I know it is good and "good enough" for some excellent makers but I just don't get it... I would think sr 101 would actually out do A2 (well, it does depend on the maker and I hear A2 has to have the perfect HT to really perfrom) in everything except ease of sharpening. it seems that it is a very well rounded steel at a great cost... is that why it's such a great knife steel?? I was just wondering because it was in one fo your "top" knife steels and I want to learn a bit about it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
