What do you guys think about this product?

I came across it in a thread over on BF. It looks much more useful than your typical emergency blanket. At 6 inches by 8 inches by 1 inch it is larger than your typical emergency blanket, but yet would still be easy to put in the daypack.

Any thoughts? Anyone actually have one of these?

That does look interesting but how much more does it cost than a space blanket?

I use a huge orange plastic 'survival' bag which is 7'X 3' in heavy polythene.. It cost the equivalent of $5, is not too heavy and when eventually they do get damaged you can just chuck 'em away (or keep them for boot (trunk) liners when you take garbage to the refuse tip..). They are great fun to slide down wet hillsides on (provided you know the hill well and there are no big drops!)..

Yes. Thank you everyone. Even though the survival bag I posted seems like a very good product, it is nice to see a lot more options and at varying price levels. That is why it is cool to post stuff like this here. To find out what we don't know.

It seems to me that this 'bivvy sack' is just this REI only folded over and sewn. I don't understand the draw when you can just fold the super tarp over.

Super Tarp is my nickname for the heavy duty space blanket in the link. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
