Is that Bear Grills knife anygood? Just lookin at it makes me wanna eat a big spider or jump into a pit of mud!! It's not that good! I call it the HSK. Hotel Survival Knife. It is great for slicing those annoying paper toilet protectors and if properly sanitized, for spreading marmalade on English muffins. Tough knife! Actually it is a very well made little knife. It is hand made by Rob Bayley of RWL 64 Swedish steel. It's a good little knife. Not too pricey, either. About the same as a Busse FBMLE.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

No, at current exchange rates, we'll be lucky to get Moras for that soon.

Nice pics. I found that the saw on my Leatherman Ti Charge (similar to a SAK saw) works great for removing suckers. I've read though that the best time to remove suckers is in the fall/winter when the sap is in the roots of the tree. Otherwise it can ooze out, and draw ants that harm the tree. You can counter this by smearing petroleum jelly where you trim. Might not want to bother though if it's not a really nice/valuable tree.

These little suckers just appeared this Spring. But I have seen some of these wax myrtles die that were trimmed. I don't know much about these things. Some pest killed a lot of my grass last month, but it is coming back. Armadillos dug up the pests and ate them. Its the law of the jungle in my yard. Nothing gets watered or sprayed. If it can't survive there on its own, it doesn't belong there. I seldom use insectacides either. I have blue skinks living in my walls. They eat the roaches. Never had a roach problem. Occasional scorpions and spiders. I have a rat snake or two in the garage. All is in a balance, most of the time. I do use poison on fire ant mounds.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I do use poison on fire ant mounds. A natural method I heard for that is to pour boiling water on the mound. Might try it.
