From the Scrap Yard:

DO NOT CALL THE BUSSE SHOP for any questions, comments, or inquiries concerning SCRAP YARD KNIFE CO. They are not us and we are not them. All questions must be forwarded in the form of emails. Emails will be responded to within 48 hours. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason whatsoever.

If you call the Busse Shop regarding SCRAP YARD KNIFE CO., we will NOT sell to you . . .ever! It is that simple and there are NO exceptions. We have an agreement with Busse Combat and any violation of this could end in us losing our contract.

Thanks, Shaolin. I thought perhaps that might have changed since Dan moved to Wauseon. But the admonition you posted doesn't leave a whole lot of wiggle room, does it?

Oh well . . . I guess I'll have to retract my suggestion.

It does if you don't mind buying "EVERYTHING" on the secondary market....LOL

JYD#14 Do you need one, of course you do it's a knife and you like knives.....

I for one would love to be able to buy from Scrap Yard Knives! Luckily my Sy's to date were from Ebay & Blade forum but I would much rather have purchased them from the maker, not someone selling at a huge mark up! If Busse Combat can have 2 on line stores........
Sorry Guys, just blowing off steam... ~ was a BAD day @ work!

It is just frustrating at times, as for me shooting her my CC info, it has been so long since these were in the store (remember Dan said the second batch would be avail in approx 4 weeks) it has been 4 MONTHS now and my shipping address has changed. In the past I have emailed Patti regarding a change of address and the box still got shipped to what was on my original order so I need to talk to her in person to verify that she gets the new address on the books.

I know i'll get torched for this but if we saw more than the occasional post from Dan then maybe, just maybe people would be less frustrated. I know from reading many threads just how busy Dan & Patti are & also manufacturing knives for the troops.
Sorry to whine ( laps dogs are known to do this!)

: )

I am guessing that this isn't their only business/line of work. I can't imagine that they are producing that many knives for the troops, certainly not enough to support a household so I imagine Dan has a regular job. I may be wrong but with the amount of knives they sell in the store this seems to be more a hobby job than anything else. That said it would be nice to see more posts from them, it would also be nice to get a more accurate timeline when discussing release dates etc

Sometimes you do find some nice deals on the secondary market, well not as highly marked up.

I agree on both counts! Yes, I think that it may indeed be a hobby. The Prices on the company store seem unrealistic compared to what they fetch on the secondary market!
Got to keep looking for a bargain YG,YH & DF somewhere!!??

As a rule of thumb I am usually willing to pay $20.00-$30.00 more on the secondary market (that is usally the most I will make if and when I sell something). It also depends on how badly you want something, when I got my original Ratweiler I paid 300.00 for it, that is a tad high as far as mark up goes but I really wanted it so it was worth it for me.

Theres a S6 going on Ebay right now... buy it now price $400 ! Tempted to buy a handfull & sell 'em on ; )
Just wish we could buy from the site! Dan & Patti have enough fans of their products! If they increased their production by quadruple they would still sell out !
Growl from the Lap Dog kennel ; )
