I'll be going out in the 105 degree heat to check out the land my Dad and I just bought and maybe cut a feww trails. I am super excited about it. I have always wanted to own some land, and I finally came across the right deal with my Dad and best friend as my partner. We bought 167 acres along the Wichita River just west of where I live. I know 167 acres isn't much, especially here in Texas, but it is to this poor boy it is my own little slice of heaven!

It is very wooded and thick with two 20 acre plots that the previous owner had planted in blackberries and grapes. We will be leaving about an acre of grapes and blackberries but i'm not sure what we'll do with the rest of it. We have a lot of trail cutting to do so the big blades as well as the chain saw will be coming out this weekend. Here are a few pics. If anyone is interested I'll post more.

Here are a couple pics from back in the thick stuff...

Good for you, have fun. Very nice. Send some grapes/blackberries my way, and dont' forget about Rainwalker as well.

Weather permitting, I am going to do a bolo machete comparison on another forum. I'd do it here, but this one is only machetes, The CS, Condor, and Tramontina bolos. No Scrappers, Busses, or Rats in this one.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

tolly, that looks like a piece of land that could compete with Tom's!
but do you have your own pond!? hmmm? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
light cheap machettes are probably best for that kind of work.

Yes Sir I do. Well, actually it is an irrigation pond/stock tank that was built by the previous owner to hold water for his rather elaborate irrigation system. He is taking most of the irrigation system with him but is leaving the well house and pump(the pond/stock tank is filled by well water by way of a pump). He did stock the little pond with black Crappie three years ago. I am not sure how well the fish have done as I have not gotten to wet a line yet, but I'll try to take some pics of it for you guys tomorrow.

My Dad and I will both be carrying a 14"Tramontina Bolo and an 18" tram machete in saddle sheaths, as well as some Silky saws. Yep, we will be doing this from horseback. Going to leave the motorized equipment at the berry patch.

Heading up to Angeles National Forest this weekend. See if I can't get some good shots of some Bussekins in action...
