Welcome Bidon but you won't learn any English here. At the yard we speak American.

Thanks all for the welcome.

Ah, that's American. I was thinking that it was some sort of Busse pidgin :-)

Guys, I love the way you receive newcomers here.

You're right on that point SF.

I'm in the Canadian Forces, and like getting these blades, but sometimes sellers ask too much for the blade I want to collect (Ex- I saw one SYK release, that Dan sold for around 90, being auctioned starting at 200, and the price had risen over 300 before I stopped bothering to check on it).

I actually tried to buy a couple blades, absorbing the high costs and all, off BF, but almost everyone on there states "US sales only". When you ask if they will make an exception and ship to Canada, some of them even get insultingly rude that you asked. It makes it all the harder for people like myself to get the blades we want to get.

bidon - Howdy and Welcome to the ScrapYard! You will find that even though we ALL started as "newbies", this is like a family here. We all share a love of great knives, and many other interests as well!

I would say the Busse phenomena is less of a cult (I'm not compelled to believe in anything particular) and more like Harley Davidson marketing. You're part of the "club" when you buy one. Sometimes you have to buy at above retail. People respect the company history and accomplishments. There are the cryptic names (FLXYZZY anyone?). There's the slavish attentiveness and speculation around new product releases. There's respect for the old products. Instead of Sturgis we have Blade. It's all similiar except you can't buy the knives retail.

So welcome to the cu..club Bidon!

Yes, you can buy the knives retail, either in the stores or the ganza's.

I was less than accurate I think Shaolin. You can't buy Busses in a brick and mortar store is what the president meant to say

Actually, Alaska Gun is a Busse dealer and they sell some Busse blades in their B&M store...
