Just to chime in. I carry my ZT0200 clipped to pocket. Also, sometimes my XD9mmSC with extra mag. When I get some pants, my AD or my new custom Swamp Rat HC.

I can't vote either because my method of carry varies based on the day's activies. Around the office I carry a folder (Dan we need something from the Yard like the rat trap) clipped to my pants pocket or a Leatherman Juice XE6 in a pouch just behind my cell phone. In that placement most people completely miss it or mistake it for a pager. If I'm going to a company meeting or other company related function I have to down size that to a "Swiss Army Knife" of some kind in my pants pocket or a small Leatherman (ie Mirco, Squirt P4 or Squirt S4). Camping, hiking or backpacking is a Leatheman Surge and a Scrapper 6 or RatManDu. Even though they aren't carried I do have two knives available to go on my belt at a moment's notice. A SAR5 in my desk and a DMDC in my vehicle.

Of course since this was a knife carry question I left out the fact that I would have a Beretta Tomcat .32 or Glock 36 or Glock 26 on my person at any given time.

Andy, power to you brother I couldn't carry that much on a daily basis. I do have a "go bag" or "ready bag" or bug out bag" or whatever you want to call it (Maxpedition Fatboy Versipack) in my vehicle with that much gear and more. My vehicle is almost never more than a block away from me (unless backpacking). So I take the chance of not being able to get to it in an emergency.

I was actually thinking about how I'd carry my DF when it shows up (why the heck is USPS routing from Illinois to Arizona, when I'm in New Hampshire...). And then I saw the Armorall Leather site, and [censored] they turn out some fine work. This could turn out to be an expensive toy once I buy all the accessories.

They offer what they are calling the "Dundee" option, basically just a scabbard on a sling loop that you can hang however you like. Does anybody have any analysis of the benefits or hazards of hanging a big blade under an arm pit? Or across the chest? For the latter I assume that a snap retention would be advised.

Thanks, Shaolin but that's not the one I am referring to.

I carry my DFLE in a dundee/purse strap set up with a frog so I can take the knife and sheath out without having to take of all the other gear.
I will find some photos later on.

Here is the sheath I had made for Bananaclip with my knife in it and the belt to show how it works. The belt goes throughthe belt loop and over the sheath and a bit of the handle keeping it from bouncing around and putting it at an angle.

You can switch sides ,make it straight up and down or switch it out for a tekloc or IWB(In Waist Band)clip but this is probably the best for a knife like the HCLE.
I like to wear it like this above my right rear pocket with the handle canted forward but some people like it above the front left pocket with the handle canted to the right for a crossdraw with the right hand. You simply put the clip on the other side for the front left crossdraw with the right hand.

You can't see it but there are 2 secure bolts holding the belt loop even though you only see one.
You can wear it with the loop on straight up and down and the sheath on the outside of the belt but it moves around a lot more as you move.

If you have the belt just like it is in the photo with the knife in the small of your back you can reach it easily with your right hand and it is quite comfortable and out of sight.

Here is a photo of the HCLE sheath with a IWB clip.

With the IWB you stick the entire sheath in your pants with just the clip sticking out to keep it from falling. The HCLE is well designed for concealed carry but it does need a sheath designed for the job.

…and my lower back thanks me for it.

Ha. And I have scoliosis and carry that much.

Nice compact pistol...it looks like a Detonics....what is it ?

Cold Mustang Pocketlite .380. I bought it for $300, now they go for double that.

...what is it like to run with it all?

With all that, plus being 300 lbs and strong, I don’t need to run.

I am chuckling away imagining you having to put all metal objects into a small box to pass through a metal detector...the guards eyes would be out on stalks!

But little would they know of the plastic knives I have that could go right through…

For a while, I EDCed my RatManDu on my belt openly. I wore it everywhere, the bank, downtown Indy, etc. Once I even concealed carried my DFLE.

No, right front jeans pocket. The pockets were really deep, but only the handle stuck out, and it was covered by my coat.

My pocket usually holds my Swiss Army Outrider. And if I'm hiking out in the woods, or working on my property I'll typically carry a fixed blade in a sheath.

I'm fine with carrying a pocket knife in my pocket that's what it's for. However, I have serious reservations about strapping a knife onto my pack. I much prefer to keep my fixed blade in its sheath and on my hip whenever comfort and convience allow.
