Nice I like that Nexus Tito , never seen them before, at least not that I know of.

Nexus Tito is a limited production run of 80 pcs in the world. On the paper, the modified A8 steel used have better features than INFI, and the first tests are encouraging. They are not for sale to public.
We also have movies of destruction tests, that not resulted in a broken blade so far.
After this first production, Nexus just gave the pictures of the blade to Fox Cutlery, that will produce it in n690co and 5 mm ( instead of 6 ) of thickness.

In this trip it was compared to the DM LE, and in normal use there are not many differences.

It's a 4,5" blade.

on paper?
lol

I don't really get that,s ince INFI isn't really an "on paper" steel.
you can't really find it on crubicle services or anything.
lol

No problems. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
And if I were you, maybe I'd have stated the same.
Busse knives ( and all the family ones ) are for sure the best production knives in the world.

The Nexus knives are produced for ( and BY ) a small group of people that looks for perfect tools. Intensive studies are done about the best steels ( and handle materials ) possible and the best design for the blade.

Softwares are used to simulate various types of forces and impacts on the blade and handle, to adjust the project and optimize performances.

Almost NO attention is paid to production costs.

At present, the group produced 3 knives.
The next one just started his production ( the project is completed, the steel is ready.... ), maybe we'll have it before the end of the year. ( it will NOT be available for sale to public, 70 pcs will be done )

About the same size of a Camp Tramp, I'll do a comparative test for sure !!

Busse is arguably the best hard use knives in the world yes.
I'm not saying these knives aren't good, I just don't get how AUS 8 compares to INFI.

however I guess we will be able to tell soon, so thanks.

Quite so.

Aus8 is a martensitic stainless steel.

A8 is a high alloy carbon steel.

the modification added to A8.... about the same difference you can see between a 420 and a 420 HC.

Infi:

C 0.5

Cr 8.25

Mo 1.3

V 0.36

Co 0.95

Ni 0.74

N 0.11

I'm not trying to persuade anyone, i'm just giving what I know as information. The non commercial nature of Nexus knives makes useless to promote them.

I'm not confident enough with english to understand if I correctly explained that I spoke of A8, and NOT of AUS8.

I never mentioned an AUS8 steel knife.

wow!
my fault!
I thought you said "aus8".
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> it was like 4 in the morning though so can you really blame me?

so... Goemon, idk if you know this, but I hear INFI is modified A8.
once again though, those numbers you posted mean nothing if we can't put INFI beside them...
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I guess nexus knives might perform similar to INFI.
