Well well this is interesting,There are plenty of other companies that make quality knives. Some are expensive and some aren't.There is however a mystique here"I could cut a car in half with this knife!!"The Dogs may indeed be capable of it,but how many knives like that do you need? Also the reality is when you hold a piece of food in front of a dog teasing it,eventually it just tires and goes away. This is no way to run a business, these people plop down their hard earned money to support Scrapyard Knife Co.Would you guys feel better if Dan told us how many and what model he was currently producing for the military orders so that we would know what was coming our way? While we're on the subject, many of the current knife publications state that very few fixed blades are being carried by our troops, and what fixed blades are being carried are small. Most soldiers are carrying tactical folders and multi-tools(there are no jungles or forests in the sand)What in gods name would a soldier do in Iraq with a Dogfather? Is someone lying???I dont know.I need to go cut something!!

I've just figured out the appeal of this site. I love dogs, you love dogs, we all love 'em. The dawg motif on this site is a means to share among knowing and engaged dawg lovers. Who cares about the blades?!

No, meatcutter, there aren't any jungles or forests. but there are a lot of doors, obstacles and barricades...and prying open the door of a damaged up-armored hummer with a "tactical" folder or a multi-tool just doesn't work...I don't know too many troops lugging around prybars, but good solid knives and on occasion even "viet nam" pattern tomahawks...because a folding knife , or a tool that doesn't really know what it is and isn't very good at any of it's jobs just isn't always the the thing to have. Knife publications are like gun pulications...most of them are there to promote/help sell products...If I beleived everything they printed...well, I'd still be waiting on a Bren 10. I came to this forum before any other (never been on one before, just read the comments) because I believed this was a good place, with good people...this may be my last post, we will see

Lets all chill out and have a nice holiday weekend. Sometimes all of us can be accused of this. ![[Linked Image from i353.photobucket.com]](http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r378/chickenplucker/beating-a-dead-horse.gif)

Knifeguy, I'll convey the same thing I said to someone over in the Busse forum who felt like he was getting "jerked around."
Lighten up. You're taking it all just a little too seriously, as evidenced by your chapter length post which takes tedium and melodrama to new heights. You might ask whether you've invested just a little too much of your identity into a particular knife brand.
As for some of the comments you make, yes there is occasional buzz on the Busse forum. But more than that, the Busse forum is a place where people have fun. They razz each other. They continually joke about drinking because it has become an inside joke, just like elves and aliens and Kool-Aid and Skunk's vault and Paul's back hair and Heavy's size and Jamie's age and Tim's grinding and so on and so on. Jerry doesn't just pop in to create buzz. He responds to questions, he offers up well wishes, he interjects with an occasional joke. Knifeguy, a lot of your criticisms are just way off base.
If you don't like the wait or Dan's current absence from the boards, the answer is pretty simple. There are lots of great knives out there from other makers.
