Also the bow and muzzleloading season starts sooner which seems to be a prime motivator for some people. I have met guys who are as into hunting and have it occupy as much time and energy as a wolf does. You would think they would not get to eat otherwise. I know a guy who has a BIG chunk of land in the middle of farmland Saskatchewan and now that he has one of those wildlife cams he knows those deer intimately. He actually manages the herd on his land by picking out what deer to harvest.

I would love a crossbow but since I already have an OK bow I will at least try to get better with it.

I need a good carry bag for it on the quad though.

I actually have the quad and truck all loaded up and ready to head out to the bush tomorrow.

I am going to also do a comparative review of my old and new bushcraft knives the SS$ and the SBT. The names are not the only similarity as both the Street Scrapper 4 and the Skookum Bush Tool are exactly the same size and shape. Both good tool steel with A2 and INFI. Both are zreo edges although the SS4 is modded with a rough satin finish and zero edge while the SBT is a skandi.

The HCLE and Mora Clipper also quite similar but stainless and the HCLE comes with a secondary edge.

Just from holding them I can tell the SS4 has the advantage ergonomically.

I love my Horton Steelforce, 150lb draw is truly powerful! Mine's a recurve, the other advantage with these is less moving parts. Plus, it's on the cheap end yet still decent quality. Got it for around $150 but I guess they don't sell them anymore. My friend totally missed my cube @#$@! and hit the brick wall while testing it out. It took out quite a chunk at 20 yards!

As for the wax, I understood one of the problems when you don't use it is the string rubbing on the rail wears much faster. I tried those noise and vibration reducers, forgot the name, and they did okay until they flew off. lol.

Haha, I use a crank. A few pulls ain't so bad, after 20 or so you gotta have a crank. When you see them in action you will be surprised. The range near where I live won't allow them because they said the insurance for it is to high. When I asked why, they told me they tested some and the bolts penetrated their walls. They had two walls of phonebooks and hay bales? in front, its a good thing they have brick behind that or they would have been in trouble!
