Three knives? A machete, a Ratmandu, and a Swiss Army.

A Ratmandu? A Machete? What about the DFLE?

Now I have to do a search for Ratmandu tests....and figure how this one became the top choice...

I thought a DFLE for sure!

Nothing out machetes a machete. I need a machete here. The DFLE will chop and do machete work pretty well, but it lacks the reach of a good machete. It was my knife of choice for my last swamp trip and served me well. The Ratmandu is a great all-arounder. If I have a machete, too, I have the chopping covered. And the SAK....well it does many things. I meant no slight at all against my favorite chopper, the DFLE.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I did'nt mean to infer any aspect of you disrespecting anything Vic....just that I might have put money on you having the DFLE in the top three....got to say though I cannot fault your logic.

Day to day and general use was what I was thinking. You could also have as many other knives as you want so long as they are under 25$. The idea was could you make do with "3 good knives"?

I have lived most of my happy life with less than three good blades, I figure I can continue to live happily with less than three.

Adam I take it you don't do a lot of cooking.
Correct . Fruits, veggies, oatmeal and milk. I eat the cheap, simple stuff most of the time.

Sure, I "could" live with just three, but happily ever after is a whole 'nother story.

Yes, I could, but would not be happy, lol

I started back through the thread, and see that Shaolin beat me to it.

watch the video. it's proof you would be happy!

in fact, i'd take the fact that we keep buying more as evidence that we're not happy!

i'm almost inclined to sell all but three, but unfortunately i'd still be free to buy more and freedom is th enemy of synthetic happiness.

I did watch the video. I have about 20 TEDtalks on my iPhone. I watch them when I have some down time when I'm traveling.
