??HUH?? The INFI of whiskey?? I always thought Jamesons, Gibsons, and Crown Royal answered to that title for regular whiskey, and in that order too! LOL! You wanna do it right, you have a draft of Guinness, drop in a shot glass of your favorite whiskey, and drink it back.. It's called an Irish Terror bomb! LOL!

That is just all wrong, tyger. Only yuppie beer snobs drink like that. You drink shots of Geo Dickel and chase it with Budweiser, or in my case, Schlitz. If you seek a faster buzz, you can chase it with a good IPA. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Ouch! I was just commenting on what some my buddies do as a kind of joke; didn't expect the backhand tho. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Don't know what Geo Dickel, Schlitz, or IPA are, but typically, I enjoy my whiskey (be it Glenfiddich scotch or Jameson reg whiskey) over a single ice cube, sipping it as I read a good book, or smoke my Hooka.

I am just kidding around. You can't ever tell somebody else what beer or whisky they like. Some folks like Coors Light. I can't even taste it. I have brewed a lot of good beers over the years, but my specialty is IPA. On several occasions, I tried to brew a standard American lager. It is an almost impossible style for a home brewer to make right. The least little off flavor from the yeast will overpower the delicate very light malt flavor. I have a renewed respect for the quality and consistency of the standard light American and Canadian lagers. On a hot day, it is a most refreshing and drinkable style.
And as for Scotch, my brother loves it. It all tastes like iodine to me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Thankfully, I don't have to worry about making home brews for a while yet; my uncle works at the Moosehead Breweries.

I can go in and visit him anytime I want (when I'm in the area), and he'll take me around to meet the guys. They're a pretty good group, most of them have family members that are in the forces as well, so they always treat another CF member like long lost family. We usually end up in the Alpine room, to enjoy a few, fresh off the line.

I don't drink hard liquor, which is a bit shameful to admit...
Not at all. I used to drink quite a bit (back when I was in the Navy). However, eventually I recognized that I wasn't drinking because I enjoyed it so much as to "keep up" with the people I was with. I'd often drink until I made myself ill, which was certainly no fun, so for the most part I stopped. I may still drink wine occasionally, or have a couple beers, or even drink a shot once or twice in a year, but I'll usually just have a (diet) Pepsi instead. It's nothing religious and I don't resent those who do indulge, but I don't think it's good to drink due to social pressure, which is what I did in my youth.

My sentiments exactly Jim! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Sweet iced tea with a slice or two of lemon - the drink of CHAMPIONS !! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I won't deny the allure of a nice iced tea, but sometimes after a long, stressful day at work (And sadly, lately, there's been a number of them for me), it is nice to have a relaxing glass of spirits. I've never been one for over-indulging on a regular basis, but the occasional snifter is nice and, health studies have shown, good for you.

As with most things in life, it's not the product itself that's harmful, but the quantity that's consumed that is.

Wow! Did this ever get serious! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

We do, we do.... it's just that beer fills you up and has you belching all night, where hard liquor just goes down smooth and puts a nice warmth in your belly on those cold winter nights. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Then you should try some Barleywines, Russian Imperial Stouts, Double IPAs, Weizenbocks, Belgian Strong Dark Ales, Imperial Porters, Baltic Porters, American Strong Ales, Wee Heavy's, Old Ales, Scotch Ales, Eisbock's, Quadrupel's, and Some Grand Cru's.

Moosehead is a darn good beer. I bet it is really good fresh at the brewery. One of my other favorites was LaBatt's 50, a Canadian Ale. I can't find it any more.
