I'm in...The waiting begins...I could use something in between the Camp Tramp and the Howling Rat, my two favorites.

but it's not an SS4! it is a shorter blade, like the Mudpuppy, probably made from SR-77. Dan mentioned it a looooong time ago.

Hmmmm, I was really hoping for a larger blade, and am a little disappointed, due to my personal expectations of what would be released.

Is it my imagination, or does the Yard Keeper look similar to the Dumpster Mutt in design???
I've got the original DM and the YKCG, the DM is much thicker however when you look at the two kinves side on the blade shape is almost identical except that the choil on the DM.
I'm in Toronto all this week or I would post a comparison pic of them side by side

I think the ykcg is a better knife for general bushcraft them the original dm. I don't think I would sell either though

when i first saw it i thought it was an S4 as well but messer corrected me.he told me what all three of them where called but i forget.i know the one on the far left is definitely not the S6 as thats been out forever and was the first scrapyard knife ever.

i wouldnt buy the one that looks like the S4 simply because its so similar to my MPLE.i'm sure what i will do when the other ones come out,if they come out because as of now they are just prototypes.

of coarse if i have extra money just lying around than whet the hell ya know but right now things are tight and its only what i really, really want.

as far as the DM and YK i dont even compare them because i think they are so different.

people dont get what the CGDM's .285 thickness is for.i think its obvious.its for prying open doors in iraq and compton.if you want a cutter get the YK although the DM cuts fine imo.

tempting. i have a black keeper and love it. it might be my favorite sy knife after the dogfather. i don't know if i need 2, but the sheath rainwalker made me is tan, so this would fit very nicely in it.

True the spine thickness is very different, but what I was talking about was the blade profile when viewed from the side as you see them in many photo's
If you didn't know about the different spine thickness you could mistake them for two versions of the same knife one with choil and one without
