My first Scrap Yard knife is in the works. I'm so excited that I'm about ready to sedate myself until it arrives... the anticipation is agonizing, though pleasantly so if that makes sense.
Is it the few pints of Japanese blood in my veins that craves the feel of a superbly crafted steel? Jiu jitsu is gnarly, a decade under my belt, but I’ve since learned from my coach that a blade changes the equations an order of magnitude, at least.
Perhaps it is my wife’s home-brewed Romanian brandy that has ignited my American red blood? Re-checked my camping gear, relegated the old knife to opening packages, oiled the ole Springfield ought-six. Eager I am to revisit the woods and exercise my God given right to camp, hike and hunt.
Is it possible to become addicted to something, before even touching it?
Working steel with fire… I envy those working at Scrap Yard Knives. Working steel with fire… how awesome!
