What's with the hat? I've never seen/heard of it. Or is it a secret only for the "special" rats?

Good for you northern1 for taking The Big One to the woods and working it! That is beautiful color combo on the Big One. I think you can leave the little crash axe at home. What can it do that the Big One can't?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I guess because I'm not an "inducted" member. Even though I own thousands of dollars worth of knives...I also have the most posts at the Swamp on a time basis, and I'm quickly gaining on Eric and Trumby (Ian) for most overall posts. So, I think I should qualify.

That's fine, they won't sell us Swamp shirts either. I'll just stick with my SY hat and shirt. Even though unfortunately as I'd feared, the SY hat isn't big enough. It needs to be "deeper". It needs to sit lower, it's right on top of my head and feels like a good gust would blow it off. My hemp hat is the only one I've found that fits me well.

If you shaved your head, it would fit. LOL

I don't think these hat's came from Swamp Rat though. There was another hat I saw and asked Eric about them, he told me another place made them, nothing to do with Swamp Rat, these could also fit the boat.

Nice score northern1, I just got mine in the mail today as well. It had a small imperfection that looked like a small bubble (in the paint) or something but I know Jerry will back it up if it becomes a problem plus I will put it through it's paces to make sure it is not a problem. I looks more of a cosmetic issue than anything and unless you are looking for it you won't really see it. Basically no concern to me. The pictures are bad right now, I didn't have time to get better ones yet. For some reason the weight feels like the same as the dogfather CG, but it is heaver by scale. Feel seems the same though. Definitely an awesome knife, my first Jerry Busie knife. I'm very grateful that Jerry finally put out a great chopper to go against my bolo.

Here's the NBFNM in comparison to the bolo and dog fathers (CG and LE)

I know, I can't wait to go out and beat on it.
