My Mashed Cat D-Guards are taking an indrect route to me. USPS tracking indicates that the guards started off in ID before travelling east to VA. I assume the next destination is in CA where I reside...

I have another question about your paracord D guard:
Your paracord D guard (and most others I've seen) are all in a large curve, which would fit very loosely over the hand. Why so loose? I make mine straight across from the front talon hole to the rear, fitting snugly over my hand. Is there an advantage (other than extra spare cord) to making them looser? Making them tighter seems to lock the knife in hand more solidly, as well as protect the fingers better – I think.

I tried one that had very little curve across on an ASH. I thought it interfered with getting a quick grasp of the knife and also thought that through long periods of use the rubbing of the paracord across the nuckles would become uncomfortable. Though it might work better on larger grips like the BM has than on the SH.
My main resoning behind the guard is to have paracord handy in case of an emergency.

I like the pretty work with paracord. I was wondering if anyone had made a D-guard out of brass or steel and just bolted it on. That would also be pretty cool.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I think they wearing boxing gloves when chopping I go short as posible on the d-guard. ![[Linked Image from i283.photobucket.com]](http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk301/simonby/PA050002.jpg)

I put the large D-guard on my Crash axe for a simple reason; when I'm out in the winter time, I don't want to have to take my gloves off to use it. If you've ever experienced temperatures that can range from +4 to -40 Celsius in wintertime, you can understand my reasoning. I'll be using this axe all year round, so I put a D-guard on it that I can also use all year round. Pretty simple answer, eh?

Nice Guard. This is what I have. I remember making a tutorial but can't seem to find it. ![[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee292/The_Aaij_1/DSC_0023-3.jpg) Didn't like the monotony so I changed it. ![[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee292/The_Aaij_1/DSC_0116.jpg) When I get some more paracord I'm gonna try a king cobra d guard.
