Are there any cheap(er) options out there? around 20 or 30 bucks? I'm really broke and can't afford to spend 70bucks on pants for the SOD when it gets here...
Possibly a large Spec Ops will fit it with a little work, you can get into one of those for under $40.00 and they are very well made.

Tadgear has the large spec-ops sheaths in stock for $30 + shipping. http://www.tadgear.com/x-treme%20gear/ge...ster_sheath.htm

You can also make your own out of cardboard and duct tape. Andy has made some really good ones and I've made a couple that work well.

That looks like a good sheath. I dont' know if it will fit the SOD...is it a one size fit all 7.5 or shorter knife kinda sheath? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I think the Spec-Ops large will fit up to a 8" blade, but I'm not convinced it will fit width-wise (measuring from blade edge to spine).

Got another idea for an on the cheap sheath. I know it will be long, but I wonder if the SOD fit into the 10" cordura scrap yard sheath.

you can always take out the kydex insert and boil it then mold it, or modify it with a cut or 2

KENKEN,
My Spec-Ops was about $40 + shipping to me.
Pretty reasonable price.
