with ammo price still high, the .22 is still the best for the outdoor range around here...Rather it be 25yards or 100 yards it makes no difference.

I'm sure some of you are into .22 as well. I have a stock 10/22 which I'm thinking of upgrading the end of the year or the beginning of the next. I have the Green Mountain 20" Stainless Steel, and Hogue OverMolded Stock in mind so far. It will be such a looker and should put one hold at 25yards with the new barrel if I do my part. With a bit more upgrades I'm sure it will also be a great small game rifle too...hmmm...

I need/want a semi-auto .22 I think I want the Marlin 60, but the Ruger 10/22 keep making me second guess. the only thing "after-market" I would get for the 10/22 would be the 25-rnd mags.

The aftermarket barrel is suppose to improve accuracy by a good amount. And it wouldn't fit the Ruger stock, so upgrading the stock is a must for the .920 barrel...well unless you want to file it down

I don't have much luck with the 30 and 25-rnd mags. The Ruger 10rounder have been jam-free for me so far.

It took more courage on my part than needed to get my gun shy bride to OK a purchase this summer. Our daughter "16" is quite a good natural shot. Must be young eyes.
I count off 30 paces in the back yard and then we shoot. Mine are always a bit better.
I last weekend put 49 out of 50 in the 10 ring on a 25 ft. paper circle target with a stray landing low left in the nine ring. That was my first shot after that all scores.
I bought it used for $325.00 it's a Mark2 Target Model with a 5 inch Bull Barrel in obviously Stainless. I don't know if the previous owner spent any money on sighting and trigger work but it shoots like a BB gun all day for about $4.00 a hundred rounds.
.22's are great fun for a whole family to enjoy plinking or friendly target competitions. I recommend it for the value and time well spent with your loved ones.

Peace.

Love the .22 I have a 10/22 that is great fun for plinking. I still want a Ruger Single Six, mainly because my Dad had one when I was growing up...

I have a Single six too. I believe i got it for less than 200.00 some years back. It works each and every time you squeeze the trigger. The only annoying part is that it's a single action and you have to eject every round after you are done with all 6. A lot of fun to shoot, but then again any .22 can be a lot of fun to shoot for a poor guy

I have Winchester model 190 that I took squirrel hunting a few weekends ago. It's a great rifle and deadly accurate imo. I think it's older than I am, heh.

A few years ago I was going through a brick (500 rounds) of ammo every thirty days . Currently my time doesn't allow for that .

I have one of these: Browning Buckmark

And two of these: Remington Nylon 66

I've got 3 Marlin .22s;

the 39A (Lever)
the 80 (Semi)
the 81 (Bolt)

of the three, I use the semi the most, as its' the easiest to reload a spare mag to keep firing when I'm doing my plinking.

The 10/22 is my favorite .22 rifle! Fun, simple and dependable.
