Thats right, my Dogfather tells time:

(Simple sundial)

I finally got a day off and got a crew out to my house. Major (massive) trees to come down, all work with large chainsaws, and DogFather here and there- She really helps when your in the air and mostly cut with the CS but need just one final whack to drop her...

Not me, but an idea of why the trees had to come down!

Plus I got some fantastic 'setup shots' with other Busses!

IronBalls, that is a great story! I am glad people as nice as you got in on the first batch of Dog Fathers. You obviously deserve it.

Peace.

For a second I thought CS meant Cold Steel instead of Chainsaw.
It is amazing that a big beautiful tree can be rotten like that inside.

That's looks like a pretty old hourglass base...sorry you had to lose the trees. Better than have them fall on the house but sad nevertheless.

Gee wiz, that was a big tree, how tall was it? also I like the Dogfather sundial, brilliant.(note: the "Brilliant" is said with the quick and sharp accent like in the Guinness beer commercials.)

Great pix!

Drink! its almost 100 out today... summer is here!

Thanks all-

She really works well in the live tree, but the long dead stuff (not the rotted i mean, but rather nearly petrified like) she doesn't sink too deep, just an edge angle thing (plus being really hard wood) but I will not thin/change the edge as the toughness of the factory edge is clear/proven all day imo.

Later in the week, i have many 1-4" trunks (bushes, low trees etc.) to go after. That is the really exciting stuff for me, as you get to take the long swings and take them in one whack. Priceless.

Forget about chainsaw, use the old fashion way, I just got a lady that split her knees with chainsaw in ED on Friday nite. Not a nice picture...Bloody friday graveyard shift for me.
