Is that your USP in your Avatar? Can you get moderators for pistols in the US?

I have shot with Civi's in the US who had moderators for their rifles but have'nt come across pistols with them.

Yes, but they are a controlled (NFA) item, meaning we have to pay a $200 tax on them, undergo a background check, be approved by the BATF and local law enforcement, or purchase them through a living trust or corporation. Most states allow moderators (we call them "silencers" or more appropriately "suppressors"), but some don't, and there are hoops to go through in order to own them legally, which most Europeans find funny, as moderators are available a the majority of gun shops in Europe. Silencer use is not only encouraged, but occasionally required over there...noise laws & such...
