I'm upset I missed the whole lot and got into the game late. The fact I'm getting a SOD helps, and really looking forward to the next offering.

i think most of scrapyard knives aren't used. the pics i see they are pristine most of them. mostly collecting. what a waste. just my opinion. and we all know what opinions are like. and i am one.

You should see mine... My S6 CG is nekkid, my DFCG has a few dinks on the spine and chunks out the coating (untidily filled with acrylic paint) from emergency skirting board removal and other abuse, my SS4 is mostly unscathed though the black coat on the non logo side is gone for emergency use as a mirror..

My Busse Badger Attack Tac CG is in good shape as the S6 kicks it's butt every-which-way except corrosion resistance! My Basic 7 is still waiting for some S6 style t.l.c...

JYD #3 Poor, but still dreaming of a sage and black SOD CG...

A lot of knives get photographed when they are new as well. Or when they have been modified. Thereafter....they get used and for some doing a job involving their use and not taking photo's is part of OpSecurity especially if in the military. Certainly with regard to user shots. After all the "kiss and tell" genre of books and even scandals like your mobile phone pic's at Quantamino....these days there is a lot of "anti pic taking feeling" in these circles. You can quickly get a bad name for this....

Sometimes at competitions the photo prohibition is dropped and sometimes the "PR" side of things happens and you can snap a few.

Going out and doing some tests however is fine...but even then the "solo" nature of what you are doing means that it is'nt easy to capture the moment or often to remember to do so....for some working out which one is best for them is just that...a personal thing...which is why I am always impressed when guys like HD do a chop off...take the pic's and then spend a lot of time downloading...uploading...and writing a review. That is a lot of effort and time given for no reward! Hell, some of the good write ups could be published in Blade or whatever and earn him some income! Plus...you also need a fair bit of experience to give a "valued" opinion and a "lot" of "disposable" income to buy the knives. It's not doable for everyone!
