As a fellow tryer of knife making I can appreciate all the hard work and especially the scale. The micarta and Spalted maple couldn't look any better if Ken Steigerwalt did them himself!
A super great job SP!
Those will last a lifetime and give the users a thrill and a real wonderful feeling every time they use them and remember you and your loving efforts.
Very well done, I salute you!
Peace.

Can the kitchen knife go in the dishwasher? I'm not sure. It probably can, but I'd not risk it. A few wipes with a soaped, damp rag is all you realy need to keep it clean. It was stabilized before I got it. It came from alphaknifesupply. Micarta is awesome. It's tough, waterproof, cheap and requires no finishing. I like the canvas micarta best - good grip for my grubby hands. I did get a vacuum pump so I am going try to stabilize my own wood - minwax wood hardener or some type of poly. It's probably best to do it before it's attached to the blade. I started swapping out handles on my old knives and it's sort of grown from there. I'd be all over that class. It sounds like a blast. Learning from somebody whose done it before and done it well has no substitute in my book.

Thanks, guys. Your opinions are very important to me, and this forum has contributed a lot to my addictions (SYKC and SCC).
Hopefully the worst slashing the burl handled one will see is a pork tenderloin.
Thanks again for the kind words.
Now, where is my SOD?

Great work and it looks like some excellent convex grinds you have there. Very well done, indeed.

Nice! The grinds look good and that maple burl looks awesome.
I'm trying to come up with some knife designs, but I keep drawing things that look like other knives. Maybe I'm forcing it to much, I just need to sit down and relax.
