Or in decimals:
1/4" = .25"
3/16" = .1875"

Well if the NIP is .25", then yes it's thicker then the YK.
I think what you really need is the Busse Off Duty. It's basically a Active Duty that's 0.35" thick!

my CW mic'd at 0.245" and my new SOD mic'd at 0.263 - both 1/4" knives
I think that the 1/4" and 3/16" measurements are pretty much nominal, and then on top of that, I guess that you should account for coating (and variations in coating thickness btw knives) on the CG versions.

This brings up a question that I've always wanted to ask. Why would you have a short fat knife? What purpose would that serve? Cheers

Cheers Some just like short/fatty and I happen to be one . Like Bruce said- probably not practical - but I still really like the feel and I use the heck out of one for just about everything. I don't have any INFI yet- but if that Busse Off Duty is that thick- I will most likely be thinking about one . Hey- maybe us fatty/thick lovers like the idea of throwing the knife ? That way if it doesn't stick it will surely knock somebody out !! I guess just different taste-Thanks
