For all-around use, I like the DFLE better than the CG. It is faster in the hand and does much better in machete mode, slashing through vines and such. And it is still quite an effective chopper. Here in this thick subtropical underbrush, a lighter, faster blade is more useful and less tiring than a more blade heavy pure chopper. For my purposes, the DFLE is perfect.

+1. That IS a substantial weight difference! On my funky 3rd World scale, the DFLE only weighs about 16 oz. That should make the SOD CG one heck of a compact chopper.
