Thanks, SB. I do enjoy having my own little jungle to play in. It hit 80 degrees today. Yesterday was sunny and warm, too, so I rode the Harley. Maybe some of Al Gore's global warming will find its way north to those who really need it.

Vic, great pics! Now you've proved INFI really WILL rust with a vengeance that's me deleting my 'bookmark' to Jerry's site!
Darn it should have scored a SOD...
Oh well, off to go stroke my S6- my (sharp pointy category) love of my life!

(Funny thing is that while I love the lines of the Basic 7 VASTLY more than the S6,it's always the S6 that goes out with me or gets used for chores..)

Oh well, off to go stroke my S6- my (sharp pointy category) love of my life! You can imagine my shock when I pulled that Squatch out for comparsion photos. What the ...? I have never had any of my other INFI blades rust, so I didn't worry about it. What actually rusts is not the INFI itself, but the decarb layer left on the surface of the CE models after heat treating. In buffing off the rust, I lost my "Special Edition" and "Busse" marks. Maybe I'll sand it smooth and shiny. Or maybe I'll paint it! For now, I just oiled it and put back in the sheath. As for the S6, as much as I like mine, I prefer the SOD LE.

The SOD LE balances in front of the handle at the "point" of the thumb rest. The S6 balances right at the blade/handle junction. The S6 is a little lighter and faster, but the SOD LE has that big, broad, beautiful swedged bowie blade, offering a little more reach. Both are great handling knives.

I also didn't realize the KSF Bowie was a fatty or I would have picked one up. I already have the 1855 and didn't think I needed another one. Oh well, I guess next time I will pay more attention to the specs

Oh well, I guess next time I will pay more attention to the specs Mike got the blanks for the KSF Bowies from somebody who got them at the Camillus liquidation. I think they are Cold Steel Recon Scout blanks. The shape, the steel, the size, and the 5/16" spine thickness are all consistent with that knife.

Great pics and review, Vic! I was very happy with the SOD CG and wondered about the difference between it and the LE. Once my LE arrived, I was even happier with it! Like you said a slightly short DFLE. I've always wanted a CT and I think the SOD fits that bill perfectly!
If someone doesn't beat me to it I'll weigh the CG and LE on my digital scale when I get home this evening.
