I think that Dan will have a hard time topping the SOD!!! I would like to see a re-release of the older models - DogFathers, S-6, etc. That way many of our newer Brethren would have a chance to get them, and better understand the addiction.

Out of all the suggestions, I think Klink killed it on this post.

+8794837489372498374983724983284982737449!!!!!!!

Dan should re-release the S6 (the Flagship of the Company - if the SOD doesnt take it ) so that other Dogs can get one if they want one like they sold the SOD. i love the way SY did the SOD, i hope they do all sales like this in the future. all dogs get fed, and more $ for the yard. win win.

I say a rerun of the S6...thick as hell, sturdy and strong, and tan coated or black coated, the way they ran em before. dan would sell these like hotcakes! imagine if a thousand of these were in the company store! and you could just swing over and buy a black S6 after breakfast, while drinking a cup of OJ. that thought makes me cry. how amazing that would be.

i still havent gotten a new black S6 and ive wanted one for years!~ so at this point, this is all i have to hope for.... Dan, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

when are we going to have knives sitting in the company store?!?!?!

and i think the kukri is a joke. sorry guys, its about as useful as [censored] on a boar to many knife users. would it be cool? oh yes! however, SY is broadening its base many new dogs are coming in and the uses a kukri is good for arent a practical as say a SOD or S6 a SS4, etc...

just my 2 cents

Dan - black S6 - PLEASE!!!!!

+1

I know that I'm the noob here, but I have to agree. Something like a kukri or bolo has a high "cool factor", but they don't fit in most folk's knife arsenal.

I hope Dan agrees. The cool factor is there, but its not practical IMO.

And even less practical than a Khukri is what *I* want to see, simply because I've always wanted one very badly, an Argonne Assault variation of some sort.

Whoa! Slow down there. What makes you think a khukuri is useless?

There's a ton of history behind the khukuri, and why it's designed that way. As a fighting knife, that recurve can do some nasty things, which is why it's been used in so many wars. Some cultures out there rely on it as much as a machete in the jungle for general purpose and agriculture use.

Khukuri in the kitchen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DHGlhFJH0g

Res-c handles + SR-77 would make an awesome khukuri. It'd give the DogFather a run for it's money in terms of chopping ability.

Practical? I don't think people buy thick scrapyard knives to be practical. Buy a Mora or a prybar instead! A lot of us are here aren't here because we're practical. I could take a small tree down faster with a saw, but I'd rather use a knife. And if SY wanted to broaden its base, a khukuri would bring in a ton of new customers.

I wasn't impressed with the khukuri at first either- but when so many kept talking about it I started looking into this blade. WOW- Pink is absolutely correct- the blade has much history to it and is worthy of SY or anybody producing it . Practical ? I would say it is very practical- but maybe for some more than others. For you other " newbies" out there like me- listen to the guys here that love the khukuri and you will soon be shopping one -nuff said-Thanks

I agree with MRpink. The khukri is a very useful design.. Yeah, it may be exotic looking, but it was designed to chop and stab like no other.. It's one of the few designs that could take an arm off with ease. I'm no expert, just going on what I've read..

I would love to see a SYKW Khukri.

Lol, a Mora and a prybar. The SOD will do both.

I have to agree a khukuri is not going to be as practical as the SOD, Dumpster Mutt etc for your average user.

They ARE good tools, as is a machete. But I really just don't need one and honestly prefer a machete.

The first khuk I bought was formed for a right handed person, and I'm left
handed, so for all practical purposes, it was useless to me.
I got rid of it pretty quickly.

After reading what Horn Dog has had to say about his HI khuks, and what
my friend Lorien has had to say about Khukri House khuks, I decided to
give the blade another try, and just purchased a Khukri House Suripate.

It's a 10 inch chopper, and really feels solid in the hand.

I haven't had a chance to get out with it yet, but when I do, I'll post
a little review with pictures.

Cheers.

Did anybody else think/hope that Dan was going to put out the details for the new release when they got back from vacation yesterday? I'm always a positive thinker!
