Now that Dan has announced a new knife is coming " very soon" and Renee kinda verified it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> . What is it going to be ? Your best guess. I say some sort of monster chopper in SR101. That is my guess. Maybe Dan or Renee will tell us who is closest? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> Dan was not allowed to get in on last one- but he has the BIG THUMBS UP <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> on helping a bit on this one. Have at it fellow Dawgs !!Thanks

I'd like to see the SS4 in infi or even a SS4 LE with satin blade.

You and me both!

It would be to see a Dogfather sized bolo or khuk too though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

A big SR77 Khukri with large Mudder handles! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

And a companion 154cm or INFI, SS4 LE with regular Mudder handles, now that sounds like a nice combo! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I'd like to see a necker since I missed out on the Swamp Warden. With the exception of recurves and serrations I find it hard to say no to anything Dan offers. So I'll probably get whatever Dan offers next unless it is something I already have but in a different color scheme (ie red or gray Dogfather).

Whatever it is, I hope it is a monster or something a totaly unique design. Something in SR101, or Infi would be a dream as a change of pace.

Got that right.
Since I've been on here, I've gotten a DMDC and a SOD.

It's exciting to be part of this when new releases come up.
Very cool <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Just had a thought.
A lot of Dawgs want to have a Khuk or a Bolo.
If Jerry is supposed to be working on a Khuk, then is it possible
that Dan is going to bring out a bolo?
A Scrapyard Bolo?????

Cheers

It's kinda hard for me to explain but once you have some, you'll understand. I don't mind the Regular Res-C handles they're fine, but the Mudder's just fit your hand like a glove. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> They kinda grew on me, I wasn't sure at first if I liked them or not, but now they're my favorite Res-C handle. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

How about a 5/32" thick SS4 sized drop point blade in satin INFI, mudder grips and without a choil? Am I asking for too much??

i would like to see a sy version of the swamp warden. little 3 in blade with a skeleton handle in black, olive green, and tan. priced at say 65.00. Dan would sell thousands of them. and that's just Cold One's order.

Wiggitty,
I think that would be a very very cool release.
That and a Khuk or bolo sometime during the year.

Cheers

I think that Dan will have a hard time topping the SOD!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I would like to see a re-release of the older models - DogFathers, S-6, etc. That way many of our newer Brethren would have a chance to get them, and better understand the addiction. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yes, but UNDERSTANDING the addiction does not mean than you can CONTROL the addiction! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> In fact, I just received my SFNO LE today. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I will try to get a couple of pictures posted tomorrow evening. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

PK,
I already have an S-6, but would love to get a DogFather and an SS4 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
Of course, a Khukri shoved in there somewhere would also be a great idea! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Jeff - I got #203 out of 300. VoxHog was nice enough to offer me his lower number, but I felt that he deserved it for partnering up with me. I really appreciate his help in scoring one of these beauties! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Cool deal. I really don't care what it is but I would like to see a Khuk, bolo, ax, or smaller carry knife. Wait, I just covered the spectrum so whatever it is I want a couple. I have learned my lesson from getting only one SOD.

MRpink, good to know - I'll test it out and post a video with the results. Not.

Btw, did you get your name from Reservoir Dogs? I've got a friend who just did a month and a half of filming in Germany with Tarantino as a 'favor' to him. His next movie is called 'Inglourious Basterds', I don't know why he chose to spell it that way. It looks good.

Hahah, yes the name is from Reservoir Dogs, one of my many favorite scenes from the movie. That's pretty cool your friend got to film with Tarantino; and as a favor, huh? Interesting. Inglourious Basterds sounds good, looking forward to watch it.

Don't you people have TV? Armageddon week, Nostradamus pedicts the end, Obama confirmed it today, the secret Bible Code predicts a Scrap Yard Kukri, just before the end of days, of course! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Oh, I almost forgot about the Mayan Calendar predicion. In 2012 or two weeks, whichever comes first, an awesome new Scrapper will be released.

You know, I've heard of these super sheaths.
And you can get them in a variety of colors,
depending on what color of duct tape you use <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

In all honesty- if you go to Andy's links - he has a great page to make cardboard pants. For a temp- or just for someone that didn't want to spend much $$- great move I am thinking. For someone like me- I need Jeff to do three sets for each knife. I am a bit ridiculous <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I was thinking of getting one of those dual pouch "gunslinger" types made up,
only for knives instead of guns. I could carry my SOD on one side and my
CT on the other side<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

hehe....
It would be interesting to see something like that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
A SOD on each hip <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
For myself personally, I'd probably go for 2 single sheaths.
One left handed and one right handed. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
More flexible approach that way <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I was thinking of getting one of those dual pouch "gunslinger" types made up,
only for knives instead of guns. I could carry my SOD on one side and my
CT on the other side<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
[Linked Image from i292.photobucket.com]

Already been done......Jeff made me a real nice looking rig. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Carries two Dogfathers a CG yard keeper a flashlight and twelve shotgun shells.

Best money I've spent. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I think it would be cool if they would release a knife combo with a big monster, and a small detail knife with mudder handles and a sheath designed to carry both, a fire steel, and a survival pocket or ten......woooooo I want to know the new release!

ordawg,
Yep, that would be completely legal up here. So far, they've only heavily
restricted handguns and fully automatic rifles...hehe...

Great looking sheath system there.
However.....
I think Rainwalker is spending too much time in the
various forums (I saw you score that BM in front of me!)
and should be spending more time working on his "to do" list!

Ordawg,

Jeff has to get his inspiration and motivation from somewhere.

Now that he's scored, he has to work hard to get the needed money
to pay the thing off <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

We should all let him indulge in steel, so that he can incur great debt, so that
he will need to work double time on the pants so that he can push the volume up
in order to make more money to buy more steel <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I am there DotD... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

There's one other things worth mentioning too. Nobody likes to send their steel, so many times my purchases are motivated by the need for a blade for patterning to not only make my work easier, but also to prevent someone else from having to ship a blade to me. And yes there have been times I've bought things I really don't care for all that much just because I know I need it, but being a knife nut... generally if it's sharp and well made (made in USA is a big plus too) I'm usually always glad to have a new blade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I need a BM like I need a hole in the head (another?) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Im a city dweller, not much use for those
big honkin' knives here. I Have a DF and then the SOD,
those are great for camping and whatever I might need them for
around here.
BM is just the first knife I saw that led me to the Busse Family
of knives,so I drool when I see one...
Especially at a great price.
They do come up often and Im sure when the time is right,
I will grab one.
Right now the smaller knives interest me a little
more because they will see much more use here in the city.
I actually just got a Active Duty in the mail...
Thats a nice looking knife! Might become my EDC.
Now Im looking at the Matching Meaner!
Im addicted! Who has the medicine!
All these new knives, guess that DM will be locked away,
in virgin state. (not the state of virginia either!)

Anyway,congrats on that score. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
(Im still revelling in my Fatty DM Steal! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

Since I'm selfish AND I missed the SOD offering, why not re-release the SOD in INFI. LOL... Yes, I know...dream on...

I like the idea of a SS4 or Scrapper 6 re-release though. I'm not a huge fan of the enormous knifes like Bolos or Kurki. Sorry gang!

Nick,
I would love to see a re-release of the SS4, but it hasn't been that long
since the MudPuppy which was in that range, so I'd be betting that it won't
be that.
Maybe a re-release of the Yard Guard, only bigger <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

+1 on the SS4 . . . but not in INFI. 154CM should be just fine for a blade that size.

I'm not really sold on 154CM.
My HCLE is 154CM, and although it's a nice knife, that old Koster Bushcraft
that I have is 3V, and it out cuts the HCLE handily.
In fact, it out cuts everything I have very handily.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Maybe Dan could bring something out in 154CM with a Scandi grind like the
Bushcraft or the Mora.
That would be cool I think <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Nick,
I would love to see a re-release of the SS4, but it hasn't been that long
since the MudPuppy which was in that range, so I'd be betting that it won't
be that.
Maybe a re-release of the Yard Guard, only bigger <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I've heard about the MudPuppy, but I've never seen pictures/specs. Can you enlighten me?

Yeah, but you can get 154CM everywhere. INFI is straight-kinky!! LOL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Hi Nick,

Go to Ordawg's "Personal SY Inventory" thread.
Scroll down until you see Andy Wayne's picture post. It's about 1/2 way
down the first page of the thread.
Counting from the left hand side (not counting the JYD coin) the Mud Puppy
is 9th one in. Light handle, right between a HCLE on the left and a SS4 on
the right.
It has mudder handles like the SS4 beside it, but light colored.

I don't have one myself, but when you put it next to the SS4 (in the picture),
they sure look similar.

Fair enough... That's a cute little blade, but I still think that I like the SS4 better. I could definitely see using the SS4 (or MudPuppy for that matter) for cleaning small/medium game.

What steel came on the MudPuppy?

The Mud Puppy is 154CM and the SS4 is INFI.

I definitely have to try and find a SS4 someday. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Andy, the more I see of that mudder handle, makes me want to grab one!
That's a nice knife. How does it stack up against the SS4 for size and
thickness?

Man, that Jeff guy makes nice sheaths <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I'm saving up money so I can get a matching set. One right hand and one left
hand. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to carry the SOD in the left side and
the Camp Tramp in the right hand side, or the other way round <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

With Jerry giving hints about the the hogzilla (Busse Khukuri) and Dan hinting about a new release, I wonder if they're going to double team for a res-c infi khuk like the SS4........maybe not but I can keep dreaming.

Jeff,
Those pictures are exactly what I was talking about regarding a bolo and a
khuk.
I really like your khuk concept. That just rocks big time!!!!

Out of all the suggestions, I think Klink killed it on this post.

+8794837489372498374983724983284982737449!!!!!!!

Dan should re-release the S6 (the Flagship of the Company - if the SOD doesnt take it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) so that other Dogs can get one if they want one like they sold the SOD. i love the way SY did the SOD, i hope they do all sales like this in the future. all dogs get fed, and more $ for the yard. win win.

I say a rerun of the S6...thick as hell, sturdy and strong, and tan coated or black coated, the way they ran em before. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> dan would sell these like hotcakes! imagine if a thousand of these were in the company store! and you could just swing over and buy a black S6 after breakfast, while drinking a cup of OJ. that thought makes me cry. how amazing that would be.

i still havent gotten a new black S6 and ive wanted one for years!~ <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> so at this point, this is all i have to hope for.... Dan, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

when are we going to have knives sitting in the company store?!?!?!

and i think the kukri is a joke. sorry guys, its about as useful as [censored] on a boar to many knife users. would it be cool? oh yes! however, SY is broadening its base many new dogs are coming in and the uses a kukri is good for arent a practical as say a SOD or S6 a SS4, etc...

just my 2 cents <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Dan - black S6 - PLEASE!!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

+1

I know that I'm the noob here, but I have to agree. Something like a kukri or bolo has a high "cool factor", but they don't fit in most folk's knife arsenal.

And even less practical than a Khukri is what *I* want to see, simply because I've always wanted one very badly, an Argonne Assault variation of some sort.

Whoa! Slow down there. What makes you think a khukuri is useless?

There's a ton of history behind the khukuri, and why it's designed that way. As a fighting knife, that recurve can do some nasty things, which is why it's been used in so many wars. Some cultures out there rely on it as much as a machete in the jungle for general purpose and agriculture use.

Khukuri in the kitchen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DHGlhFJH0g

Res-c handles + SR-77 would make an awesome khukuri. It'd give the DogFather a run for it's money in terms of chopping ability.

Practical? I don't think people buy thick scrapyard knives to be practical. Buy a Mora or a prybar instead! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> A lot of us are here aren't here because we're practical. I could take a small tree down faster with a saw, but I'd rather use a knife. And if SY wanted to broaden its base, a khukuri would bring in a ton of new customers.

I wasn't impressed with the khukuri at first either- but when so many kept talking about it I started looking into this blade. WOW- Pink is absolutely correct- the blade has much history to it and is worthy of SY or anybody producing it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Practical ? I would say it is very practical- but maybe for some more than others. For you other " newbies" out there like me- listen to the guys here that love the khukuri and you will soon be shopping one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />-nuff said-Thanks

I agree with MRpink. The khukri is a very useful design.. Yeah, it may be exotic looking, but it was designed to chop and stab like no other.. It's one of the few designs that could take an arm off with ease. I'm no expert, just going on what I've read..

I would love to see a SYKW Khukri.

Lol, a Mora and a prybar. The SOD will do both.

I have to agree a khukuri is not going to be as practical as the SOD, Dumpster Mutt etc for your average user.

They ARE good tools, as is a machete. But I really just don't need one and honestly prefer a machete.

The first khuk I bought was formed for a right handed person, and I'm left
handed, so for all practical purposes, it was useless to me.
I got rid of it pretty quickly.

After reading what Horn Dog has had to say about his HI khuks, and what
my friend Lorien has had to say about Khukri House khuks, I decided to
give the blade another try, and just purchased a Khukri House Suripate.

It's a 10 inch chopper, and really feels solid in the hand.

I haven't had a chance to get out with it yet, but when I do, I'll post
a little review with pictures.

Cheers.
