what would Busse Combat put up against the SOD in a torture test competition? And do you think the SOD would stand up as long as the INFI offering whatever it might be?

The Busse Steel Heart series are about the size as the SODs.
It depends on the nature of the test of course, but the INFI would most likley "win" however it darn well better win, it is much more expensive by an order of magintude of 2-3 romes more, so you would expect more preformance.

I dunno, if it was just a matter of say...shattering/cracking I think it would be close.

I agree with both of you... For the $ you would hope INFI would win but regarding toughness, SR77 has the same level of toughness as INFI if Im not mistaken... others dawgs can verify or nullify this claim.

The Busse Basic 7 would be a pretty faor match up with it's blade size, M-INFI steel and Res-C handle. Possibly the 7" bladed SFNO at .220" thick in INFI. The INFI is going to have the advantage in every category except for lateral strength, and they are just about dead even in that area.

I love my Scrappers and SR77, but INFI really is an amazing steel. It's just excellent in every category.

Oh, I almost forgot, there is one category that SR77 does beat INFI in, and you guys with belt grinders can back me up on this one, SR77 throws big showers of pretty sparks and INFI doesn't !!!

What about the NMSFNO, it's still up on Busse's page and everything.

the nuclear meltdown outlaw (i think its called) that is being shown on Busse's website currently appears to be a knife that would go toe to toe with the SOD pretty fairly....
